Not very close at all, essentially because factory invoice even if you
could get that isnt very useful at all, because its the rebate that matters.

They'd make it available if it was feasible.

It wouldnt be much use even if it was available.

I believe that "Consumer Reports" can provide that information, for a fee,
of course. Also, you might want to haunt your local Barnes and Noble, in the
Transportation section; I seem to recall coming across various books that gave
the factory cost of most cars, along with the costs for their various options
and packages. It's been several years, so I might be misrembering, but I
think Edmunds was among those putting out these pricing books. I don't
remember who the other publishers were, unfortunately.

good luck. dealers go to great lengths to hide that info. "dealer
invoice" is a fiction designed to assist in this deception.

Car plants are useless for producing trains, stupid.

Efficiency is the name of the game. Public transportation (properly
used) is so much more efficient than cars. Germany and Japan only have
a third of American consumption.

Bicycles can be used to further facilitate individual transportation
at the local level or in conjunction with public transportation.

Nobody questions in Europe the need for improving transportation

Bill Sornson has got his facts straight and knows how to get to the point.
If only there were others on these newsgroups who had even half his
intelligence. But instead we are stuck with liberal ideologues who frankly
do not know their asses from a hole in the ground. Embrace an ideology and
become an idiot. That is about the only thing these newsgroups teach us.

If Obama doesn't deliver, the next charismatic leader will take the
prize.

Maybe even Sarah Palin!

I thought he inherited those hot potatoes, I mean hot spots.

Anyway, shouldn't we give up such Quixotic enterprises and start
nation building here?

Imagine we had so many resources to do something really grandiose

I don't pity pensioners who invest in dirty oil. Let them be wise and
invest in solar energy or something clean.

They will learn the lesson next time, though the hammock industry
looks good...

Oh no, I'm talking also to the groups where men talk (or rumor) about
revolution. See above.

I am aware of all those problems and yet I remain somewhat optimistic
that *we the people* can bring about the necessary changes by
reclaiming the space taken away from the cyclists at the beginning of
the automobile era.

ALL WE NEED IS TO *TAKE THE LANE* IN A COORDINATED WAY AND STAY THERE.
That is our place. The cars must go around you on the other lane and
watch for you.

If the small one must watch for the big one, which takes already takes
the lion's share of the road... we would be ruled by the Law of the
Jungle.

It would like the Taliban, but a Democratic Taliban, without any hope
of change.

There are no troops coming to rescue us, only our capacity to MAKE
NOISE can bring us the SOLIDARITY that we need.

The federal government in Washington is totally worthless. There is
hope. American economy will continue to lose ground in the global
market. We are simply not competitive. Experts suggest that 2011
is really going to stink. Anticipate social unrest which can go
anywhere. America needs a total absolute rebuild. Tough part
will be watching the continuing decline. The system is not up to
the job.

I used both Listerine and the store brands when my dentist told me I needed to
use the antiseptic mouthwash to prevent plaque build-up and gum recession. As
far as I can tell, after many succeeding checkups, the results were the same
for both. Of course, YMMV.
