(As I was taking a shower, a spirit of the jungle came to me and told
me this is the topic of the day. I said, "Fine, let's go for it!" I'm
not exactly sure what stand they take on religion, but usually they
are very skeptical of the whole thing)

Have you noticed how the Christians dismiss scientists right off hand?
I mean, it usually takes one scientist to refute another scientist,
but the Christians are the exception to the rule. Whether it's
EVOLUTION or CLIMATE CHANGE, the Christians are quick to dismiss
scientists.

Of course, when they are sick, they turn to science and are more
willing to take medications that have been tested on animals... How
come? Hey, leave all those monkeys, pigs and rats alone --all of them
showing high IQ-- and do the tests on Christians. This is the perfect
retribution.

(And with this the spirit of the jungle flew away right back to the
wild world so threatened by Christians)

There seems to be a willing suspension of logic and they just believe on
blind faith. I have a technical friend who is otherwise very smart and
he said to me that God knew I was going to say that, but I still have
free will.

Who is this this God that know everything ahead of time? To me that
sounds completely crazy. And even giving that there is some all knowing
being that knows everything we do before hand, how can there be free will.

I find it all completely absurd. No doubt why so many Evangelical
Christians are also Republicans. And why so many of them think Sarah
Palin would be a great President. Ignoring the obvious, of course.

I've heard it said that Democrats want to know and Republicans want
to be told. I see no flaw in that.

If you had an IQ greater than your waist size, you wouldn't be a
Christian or believe in any of the other religious cults.

In Europe they got tired of killing each other over religion and
politics and settled down into a nice comfortable living, including a
good transportation system to visit each other. The minute you mention
here "trains," you'll be attacked for supporting "socialism." That
concept is very hard to dislodge from the Christian/Conservative mind.
And as a cyclist you don't stand a chance on the roads, where you'll
be competing for the Darwin Awards.

The high IQ monkey better stays in the cage.

Some manage a weird dichotomy of blind faith in some areas, and logic in others,
most obviously with scientists who do operate as if evolution is how it happened
in their professional lives and still are stupid enough to believe that some god or
other decides on all the detail like whether they have grovelled hard enough so
that one of their kids will be cured of some serious medical problem etc.

I guess its not very surprising that some try the grovelling because if there isnt
actually any god thats taking any notice, you've only wasted some of your time etc.

> I have a technical friend who is otherwise very smart and he said to me that God knew I was going to say that, but I

He's clearly not smart enough to have noticed that all gods are just a mind fuck
designed to keep people doing what someone has decided is the way to operate.

Yep, he aint actually that smart.

I can see why some want or need a nice tidy set of rules.

Its not very surprising that the more conservative go for the more conservative religions.

Yeah, they actually are that stupid.

I do. Its never anything like that black and white.

Hey, he knew the bicycle was a good way to keep your brain and waist
in shape...

"Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep
moving"

This fact escapes the Christians.

Beware of bank computers where they give you new accounts and change
things on your existing account.

They have you sign on an electronic pad and it says "I agree to all
the above", etc. BUT THEY DON'T SHOW YOU WHAT YOU ARE AGREEING TO!

And they don't want to let you read what you are signing!

"For city bicycling to catch on we need a revolution in our society's
infrastructure. Right now a city rider needs to be a road warrior, and
the bike needs to be cheap and ugly so it won't get stolen. That's not
a bike friendly culture."

- Gary Fisher, founder and CEO of Fisher Bicycles Riding

That's a BIG TRUTH which denies civilization, placing us right next to
the Taliban and their denial of humanity to women. Further, it
indicates the breakdown of culture and the prevalence of ANIMAL
INSTINCTS among us. We are looking for INJUSTICE in far away places,
and we have it right around the corner. We don't discriminate women.
They too can ride bicycle on sidewalks.

This is a clever observation: "Bicycles are the indicator species of a
community..." So we have abandoned the idea of community centered
around the bicycle and embraced the one centered around the SUV.

Enough said, now enjoy the quotes...

And that requires a revolutionary change in thinking... something the
Christians --presumably the majority of voters-- may not be ready for.

Plan B: Do it somewhere else. ;)
