Some, but not all, are doing a form of therapy and are as fully qualified as
pastoral councelors who divine the client's proper path forward based on an
ancient book of misinterpreted teachings.

Others, in both areas, are just in it for the money and social standing.

I don't worry about it, any more than I worry about a "bad" egg. IIRC, a WEAK
bleach or hydrogen peroxide or grapefruit seed extract solution will reduce
pathogen levels, both with chicken and with raw veggies (which can be worse).

With chicken, I sear the outside, but only bring the interior up to enough to
barely cook it. This fellow actually has it right:

People who will let their pets kiss them (after those same pets have licked
their butts) freak out at chicken that isn't cooked into hockey puck texture.

If you have fear you had some undercooked meat, have a glass of wine.

Every once in a while they have them free with any purchase. I just
looked at mine. Two AA batteries. The light is OK (dark spot in
middle) but the elastic has worn out :-( The elastic on the Petzl is
still fine.

Understood! My neighbor has something very similar. Dunno whether
it's multifunction but it puts out a bodacious amount of light and the
bright end has shallow spikes: Sort of pyramids that must be unpleasant
in an eye socket. I can see that the flashing thing would be useful but
I have a dumbass problem with dealing with the sequential selection of
shiny objects on the most similar light I've owned. Personally, I use a
flashlight frequently throughout a day. The general practice is to turn
the light on briefly, off it and doo-dah, back on. Often the interval
between off and back on is short enough that the light is in dim beam; a
pain in the ass for a slow learner.

Thanks for the info. Are the lights in the
unavoidable-because-HF-pays mailbox stuffer? Putting HF on the list for
the next 'possum run to check them out.

I'm thinking, this getting old really sucks, I just can't get cool, even if I'm next to the fan.

I try a little experiment and see a ribbon barely flutters in front of the fan, even when turned to high.

I see they are having a sale on floor fans, so I buy one. The new one looked like the old one, but the differences are night and day!

When I assembled the fan I noticed the blades were plastic. Both the new and the old.

I figured it out. There is nothing wrong with the fan, it would probably last a hundred years. The problem is with the fan blades! They go flat after awhile. They spin but they don't move any air. Just a waste of electricity. And of course one can't buy just the blades. So I'm changing out the old fans and it is like Dorothy and Kansas in here.

If anyone is sitting in front of the fan thinking, this global warming is the shits. The problem just might be your cheap-assed fan.
