The name, "misc.consumers.frugal-living" implies that perhaps
some posts just might have something to do with consuming,
frugality, living, or miscellany.

It just keeps getting worse. I wonder why this group gets so much more than

Presumably the name makes the stupidest spammers decide that
many of the readers will actually be stupid enough to read their spam.

Can't speak for this group, but those on other groups I've followed tend
to report all spam.

Okay, as long as you stick to your hackneyed, necrotic cliches. If my
assumption is incorrect, then your entire complaint is invalid.

<http://www.wcpc.us/>

You made the following claim:

"The sites that will not run are not half baked operations. One is the
probate court site for Wayne County Michigan and another it the State
of Oklahoma. I think they know how to construct web sites. Those
particular ones don't crash. They simply don't run properly."

I had no trouble accessing or operating the site you specified. I looked
through all of the Wayne County Probate Court links using FireFox, Opera
and Safari and had no problem with any WCPC function apart from their
exclusively MSIE calculator. Everything worked just fine, including the
search forms.

I did not bother much with the links to outside sites (which is what I
suspect you are talking about with your irrelevant, off-topic assertion
that "Wayne County has many sites"), but I covered that topic when
mentioning private websites, none of which originated from or are owned
by Wayne County.

Indeed, the only mistaken assumption I made became apparent only *after*
you responded like Rod Speed. It must be terribly tiring for the two of
you to have your cycle all month long.

True. Re-pairing everytime I switch between phone and PC is a
hassle, tho'. I guess that's an excuse to buy more earpieces! ;-)

The small-fry- Voicestick, OneSuite, callwithus.com, etc.

But with some pay-as-you go VoIPs charging $0.015/minute or less, you
need to be using 1000-1500/minutes a month or more for that $19.99 to
be a good deal.

The problem with most if not all WiFi VoIP phones is the lack of web
browser. Too many public WiFi APs (including most hotels) require
you toagree to a TOS page in a browser before you get access to the
'net. This wipes out the ability for those phones to connect. When
I want to Skype over WiFi when traveling, I use my Pocket PC.

Skype's improved quite a bit in the connection to POTS department, IMO.
I just can't take a "phone" service seriously that needs my PC on to
work. (While the WiFi phones are cute, I like being able to hook
"real phones" into a VoIP box.)

That can be fixed with most ATA boxes in their setup by editing the
"dialplan." (It tells the box to fill in the "missing" digits if
only seven are dialed, or drop the leading "1" if 11.

Many people often forget the "unhook the local telco's line from the
entrance bridge/test interface" part and fry a perfectly good VoIP
box!

DVDFlick freeware

http://www.dvdflick.net

Just drag the AVI file onto DVD flick and it will create the DVD files.

Then burn the DVD with ImgBurn freeware
http://www.imgburn.com

Just drag the VIDEO_TS folder onto ImgBurn and it will create the DVD disc.

Is there an easy lookup table that shows us which DVD media is good
quality?

Nope, because it also depends on the burner being used.
