Generally, if you have the licence for either, it's a key-file in a ZIP
or RAR file. While running WinZip or WinRar, you click on either the
key file or the compressed file containing the key file.

If you don't have that key file on your drive somewhere, then you might
not be properly licensed. If you *lost* the key file, then contacting
winrar or winzip will get you a replacement.

(For WinRar, it's rarkey.rar containing rarreg.key)
I presume from that, that WinZip would have zipkey.zip containing
zipreg.key I guess you'd have to try doing one with the other.

I agree. The fault lies with the uninstall file provided by the software.
RevoUninstaller is worth trying. I just couldn't resist kicking Vista.

The best path is to fully research software before you install it and then
only install those programs you are certain you will use and keep. Trying
everything you find is a sure fire way to make your PC a disease infested
flea bag.

For zips, RARs etc. I use Universal Extractor. It's free and, by
experiment, I've found that it can extract to a sub-directory a working
app. Won't do this for MSI exes, but I'm running several things that were
installers of various sorts but I didn't 'install'. 'Uninstalling' is then,
in most cases, just deleting the directory. Worth checking the Reg. and
Docs and Settings.

A very good example of some very poor thinking.

There must be about 10 errors in that short posting.

Winzip was once in common use and is well known, however
freeware like 7-zip does it all, does it better, and with a much
better
UI.

Theres no way windows can unless an automated before/after snapshot
system becomes part of win one day.

Snapshot uninstallers and afterwards uninstallers are 2 quite
different things. To imagine that all software comes with uninstall
utils that really do remove everything woul be wildly optimstic. Once
these 2 points are understood you'll see why there's no possible
way an afterwards only uninstaller of any kind can be safe or
effective.

> WHAT are the best two or three (max) freeware registry and file crap

...hence this is a moot question.

They may have UPS as their shipper (picks up at their location) and the
cost to drive to the PO for an occasional item may not be worth their time.

Lessee, who do I trust more - A US based company buying US agricultural
products under USDA inspection and subject to US law and working with
consumers, producers, and merchants to minimize impact, or a Chinese
company not subject to US law who uses poisonous products as a matter of
course, and is answerable to a country that has been aggressively
attacking the US economy for the past 3 decades.

I'll take my chances with Cargill any day of the week.

I'll give you a piece of my mind for free!

My parents once liked electric blankets. They tried an electric
mattress pad and liked it better. They also found inexpensive
non-powered mattress pads worthwhile. Insulation under you can be more
important than insulation over you. When bedrooms weren't heated at
night, sleeping on insulating material was important.

We use a heated mattress pad with dual controls. Our bedroom is very chilly
due to badly run duct work on an addition to our house. We warm the bed up
before going to bed, then I shut mine off. Hubby sometimes leaves his on on
low all night when it's really cold. It's cheaper and safer than running a
space heater.

We use a microfiber down comforter as well which is very light but very
warm, but prefer having the bed warmed instead of having another blanket on
top. I don't scrimp on the price for something like this. After all, we
spend 1/3 of our lives in bed.

Melissa

Ughh. Never ever buy a mattress used. You have no idea who had that
mattress before you and what nasty germs and bugs still reside in it.
No matter how well they're cleaned, mattresses will also carry odor
residue from the last owner and the thrift store where it was stored.
Do you want your bedroom to smell like the thrift store or the last old
person who passed away in it? Yuck! I'd rather sleep on the cold
floor.

The problem with buying a new electric mattress is that the electronics
will eventually wear out far earlier than the mattress will. Also,
your good quality expensive mattresses don't usually come with electric
heaters. With an electric blanket you're not out that much money when
its electronics fails. You can turn on your electric blanket a half
hour before going to bed and it will heat up the mattress too. Electric
mattresses make no sense IMHO.

Don't feel bad, a recent study indicates that only half the spouse heaters
work as intended, anyway. If your spouse feels warm to you, then
you will feel cold to her, and vice-versa. After all, you're dealing
with relative heat flow here.

Also some spouse heaters might operate either AC or DC, which
could cause quite a shock to the unaware.

Fortunately for me, I've married a hottie, so I don't need to shop around
for a spouse heater or electric blanket anymore, and the dog can
continue to sleep downstairs on the couch.
