You can't expect the government to be your private attorney. If yours
was the only complaint on the telemarketer that they received, I
certainly hope they would do nothing and save the taxpayer's money. If
your complaint adds up with others to something substantial, then they
should act and your complaint will have been part of that action.

In fact, you didn't even have a complaint and they told you what they
would do and provided other direction.

You must have some state DNC law where you live. The Federal DNC law gives
consumers no right of private action.

Most states have such laws and many preceded the federal law. By the
way, several companies did not take me seriously when I contacted them
until I mentioned the name of their agent for service.
In California a corporation registered with the secretary of state
must have an agent for service of process whose job is to accept legal
papers for the company. That person by law must accept all legal documents.
If they had a dba with a county the county clerk has that
information. In CA you can sue in the county where you received the call
regardless of where in the state the call originated. If the hearing is
less than 30 days after the filing papers must be served on an owner but
beyond that they can be served on any employee. It is best to choose the
latter and use the services of the sheriffs department.

P.S. Obviously you need to know who called you. If you immediately
demand this information or ask why they violated the law they will
usually hang up or offer to put you on their internal list.
It is better to act interested for a minute and then ask for that
information.
Also, courts have ruled that a US company that outsources calls to
another country is still subject to the law.

I am not the one who's contemplating violating an agreement you freely
signed. It seems to me that it would be much easier to simply abide by

heh. years ago, a hotel in chicago had a science fiction convention.
They'd taken most of the hotel non-smoking, but had a few rooms that
allowed it. One guy got one of the mini-suites and turned it into the
"smokers Con suite" which brought most of the smokers from a 3000 person
convention through his room for extended smoke breaks.

The hotel had to strip the room bare and shampoo every surface. oops.

through a battery different than electricity through wires (not

AT&T offered me $21.95 a month for "up to" 3.0 if I agreed to a two
year contract and automatic billing. I had to jump through hoops to get
the modem rebate and Visa gift card (the funniest excuse was 4 months
later when they said the delay was because they had to verify my address).
Another poster noted that any DSL is better than dial up. I agree. A
few months afterward my modem got fried and it took a week to get a new
one. I had to use dial up and I had forgotten how s-l-o-w it is.
Keep in mind that if you have a dedicated line for your dial up you
will no longer need it thereby offsetting some of the cost.

It's still dsl for ten bucks a month. There is no real 'cost' to provide
dsl once they've installed digital service. Anything they can charge and
get away with is found money for the company. I was replying to the OP,
not looking for a fight.

I think the other thread is dead.

You might want to check first the air gap and drain hoses from the air
gap to the garbage disposer.

Once you clean out the air gap and hoses, check for a broken belt used
to drive the pump.
Sometimes that belt just slips off the pump.
Replace it anyway because it might be stretched.

Then check your pump impellers. The wash impeller takes care of the
wash cycles, the drain impeller drains the water out. Check for broken
blades or shaft preventing the dishwasher from draining.

Before you go farther, check to see if the water shutoff valve
(located under the sink) is open or clogged. Remove the hose on the
dishwasher side to see if water gushes out. If not, clean or replace
the shutoff valve. If water is only dribbling out then put a pressure
gauge on the valve to see if you have at least 50psi. You can get
liquid pressure gauges from an automotive or plumbing store.

Always unclog the spray arms. Stick a paperclip or pipe cleaner into
each hole in the spray arm to ensure a smooth flow of water. These
holes are what spin the spray arm. If they are clogged, you get no
spinning action.

Next check your drain solonoid to see if it's stuck, preventing water
from draining. Smack that solonoid with a big magnet like those cow
pills if you have one handy. If not, mash it a few times with a
plastic mallet, taking care to only free up the solonoid if it's
stuck.

If the solonoid is ok, then see if the motor is stuck. This time, spin
the magnet around the outside of the motor to see if you can get the
vanes to move. Or stick wooden chopsticks inside the motor vents to
see if you can push the motor as sometimes the carbon brushes bend
against the copper commuter and the springs get caught.

Last, check the timer which runs the whole thing. And check the door
switch which turns it on.
