Thanks for proving my point... those of us with real life experience
and measurable IQs don't need to work as fork lifts. My momma taught
me that no one pays much for jackass labor. That said I have no doubt
I can out muscle two of you.

The only reason folks buy cast iron cookware is because it's cheap,
and they are too poor or miserly to buy real cookware or they enjoy
playing pilgrim. It makes as much sense cooking with cast iron
cookware in 2008 as it does commuting to work in a cart with wooden
wheels pulled by a yoke of oxen. I've yet to see a professional
kitchen that uses cast iron pots and pans. Cast iron cookware makes
steel wheel roller skates and wooden golf clubs seem like state of the
art. Cast iron cookware went out of vogue before the Wright Brothers
flew at Kitty Hawk, before Edison's light bulb.

Two advantages to cast iron:

1) thermal mass. Sometimes that's a benefit, sometimes it's not, but
sometimes you want even cooking over the ability to heat/cool quickly.

2) you have to work very, very hard to render a cast iron skillet
unusable. You have one, you have a skillet for life. That appeals to
my chea^H^H^H^Hfrugal side.

Well, it appears people use them for media mail, parcel post, UPS, FedEx,
etc. by slitting them along one corner, turning them inside-out, and taping
the slit corner back together. That provides a box with a plain exterior,
unless the USPS decides to print the PM logo on the interior.

(No, I haven't done this, just seen it. I suspect the USPS considers it to
be illegal.)

The Amish I knew (Medina County, Ohio) had a two battery limit, but

The kids could be seen as economic entities by the use of
standardised test scores. And, eventually, surveys tracking
university attendance.

So, a school districts could be compared based on those outcomes.
Which relate to the economic outcomes of the children. Crap
school districts may tend to churn out poor poor adults. And,
yes, I know that that is a generalisation, with a few exceptions.

I will definitely say that, I came from a VERY disadvantaged
educational background. And rose above it (while my siblings
didn't.) But, "home-schooling" is in a (diverse) class by
itself.

A little anecdotal note on teachers...

A few years ago, I met a primary school teacher, recently out of
teacher school, and working in my area, for her first year. I
mentioned the (then-recent) landing of the Huygens probe on
Titan, and how the kids might be excited to look at some
pictures. Which were available on the Internet.

This early-20s, skool-teacher looked back, apathetically, and
said, "I don't use the Internet." And she obviously wasn't
interested in finding out how.

And I knew that moment, "This induhvidual will NOT be remembered
by her students as a dynamic force promoting a love of learning.
She will be remembered as a tedious, frowning hack, putting forth
as little effort as possible. And encouraging the same."

OB Frugal-Living - This moron repeatedly mentioned her delusion
that my tiny vegetable garden had a surplus far beyond what I
could eat myself. And acted frightened when I tried to explain
otherwise. She only saw her fantasy of bludging "free" food off
of a neighbour (me), and was too stupid to learn anything about
the ratio of space-with-plants, to human-consumable food.

I am Nilotpal, age 28yrs, have LUNGS CANCER. Doctors said if it is
treated now can be suppressed. I have a six members in my family
(Me,my wife,my old parents,my 2yr. old child & my unmarried sister). I
am the only one to earn livelihood for all of us. I work in a very
small shop & earn very little to affrod my treatment alongwith other
expenses. If I die they'll be no where.

After lots of fights I can afford for surgery. Now I need money for
the costlier part of treatment, Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy. PLEASE
HELP.
I know that it'll seem to you like few others begging online with a
False Stories.But as you know, the God is here and he knows why I am
begging to others for money.If I am a liar then I know no one will
come to help me & I WILL DIE.

Believe me,I am the person who never asked for any favour from any
