The per usual republicrat farm socialism has created food supply
chaos, subsidized corn for ethanol fuel has crowded out other food
crops, speculators abroad have taken their bales of dollarpesos and
bought out our wheat supplies so that we'll have to re-import at a
higher price. Gov't. has paid southeast Texas farmers to raise
livestock instead of rice, now Sam's Club and Costco are rationing it.
So I tossed the ornamental plants and have planted corn, beans,
peppers, and tomatoes, maybe carrots next. I recommend others do the
same this season in their backyards if they have them. I don't think
there will be acute food shortages this year in the USA, but grocery
prices are high and getting higher. It will also save the fossile fuel
to get it from the farm to your table. I would raise meat but codes in
my 'burb won't allow it.

You can have the inside of the roof sprayed with urethane foam, that
will insulate and deaden noise too. A small solar panel used for
cathodic protection will about double its rust resistance life, long
after you and I are in the grave. Why shingles? Tradition, limited
construction worker skills, building codes, and increasingly, those
pesky HOA rules. Social attitudes regard metal roofs as lowbrow and

I went to the local building supply and big box stores and asked for
their broken and chipped pavers, bricks, all but one said have at it
with no charge. For a family project we pieced them together like a
puzzle to the coverage we needed. Saved landfill and tipping fees to
the store, saved the energy and money to get them new, and the energy
to get them from the factory to the store. It has a kind of rustic
eccentric look, too.-Jitney

If you have trouble getting an AT&T rep call their headquarters st
210-821-4105 and ask for the executive offices. Any time I have done
that the issue has been resolved within 24 hours.
Regarding the phone cards some hotels do charge for 800 numbers. I
use my cell when I travel and my main land line is with IDT which
charges me $51 a month including all the taxes and fees for unlimited
service including all the add ons like caller ID and three way.
