Even Cheney had to back off:

Vice President Dick Cheney's office has acknowledged that
he erred when telling an audience this week that China is
drilling off the coast of Cuba.

there are 1000's of capped wells in the u.s.a. right now, just
sitting. there are many untold leases that were issued to the oil
companies, and they are just sitting. the cons and their corporate
masters just want to tie up more reserves in their portfolios for
future gauging. they will leak the oil out slowly, whilst keeping the
oil scarce, and the price will stay high, and leases and wells will
stay capped. our property, will be tied up by them. to your detriment.

Back it goes in your face, lying clam fart:

http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/china_starts_oil_drilling.html

The Chinese have forged a deal with Cuban leader Fidel Castro to explore
and tap into massive oil reserves almost within sight of Key West,
Florida. At the same time, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who
controls the largest oil reserves in the Western Hemisphere, is making
deals to sell his country?s oil to China, oil that is currently coming
to the United States.

Meanwhile, a new left-wing populist regime in Bolivia has nationalized
the natural gas industry, threatening to cut off supplies to the United
States.

SLANT DRILLING

There are new reports out circulating that Chinese firms are planning to
slant drill off the Cuban coast near the Florida Straits, tapping into
U.S. oil reserves that are estimated at 4.6 billion to 9.3 billion barrels.

China is eager to tap into oil reserves in the Florida Straits and then
make a deal with Castro to control it. The Chinese have already reopened
an abandoned Russian oil refinery in Cuba. Much of the gas refined there
is believed to be destined for Freeport in the Bahamas, where the
Chinese, through front company Hutchison-Whampoa, has developed a
massive port facility and airfield.

With the refinery reopened and expanded it will also meet the needs of
Castro.

Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) has introduced legislation to ease U.S.
restrictions that prevent dealing with Cuba to drill in the Florida
Straits. It is hoped that Florida regulations that prevent U.S. oil
drilling off the state?s coasts could also be eased.

I find it impossible to believe that anyone who knows the basics
of how to balance a checkbook could be affected by this. When you
initiate any transaction, you record it in the register, and it is
reflected in the balance you compute. So if you call the bank and
their balance doesn't reflect an outstanding check (or debit card
transaction or whatever else), you're going to go, "well, my register
shows in my own handwriting that check #233 was for $99.50, but the
bank doesn't know about it, so it must not exist"?

Usually, those kind of credit cards are tied to gas stations and/or
convenience stores that are regional. Try checking

PVs are hideously expensive compared to solar heat from a sunspace, which
can cost 100 times less per peak watt and provide useful floorspace. Most
US houses need several times more heat energy than electrical energy.

With a $50 used car radiator and its 20 watt fans, a sunspace can also
store 140 F water in a large unpressurized tank containing a $60 1"x300'
13-gallon pressurized plastic pipe coil to make hot water for showers.
The same radiator can heat the house with tank water on cloudy days.

Amorphous silicon solar electricity should get cheaper in a year or so,
with companies like XsunX coming on line with a manufacturing cost close
to $1.50 per peak watt for panels which produce more electricity than other
kinds in dim sun and high temperatures. XsunX stock seems interesting at
42 cents/share, with a $21 million venture capital commitment, which isn't
easy to get these days. Unisolar's similar product has a long waiting list.

I took my car in to the dealer for maintenance. They have a free

you up when they are done with the maintenance. Should the driver be

If it were me and I felt the driver went above and beyond what his/her
duties entailed, I would consider a tip. If I happened to know the
driver were well paid, I probably wouldn't.

If you have extra money to give away to people, then tip away!

Or if you are going to be seeing this person again in the future, then it
might be to your advantage to give some sort of tip. Then you will be
assured good service in the future.

If you are never going to see this person again and don't have extra money
to be giving away to people, then no tip.

If you don't have any money to spare (like due to the high cost of your
repair) and the person has been extra friendly or helpful, then instead of a
tip, get his/her name and tell his boss what a good job he/she is doing.

I often take airport shuttles to budget car parks. I often wondered if
I should tip. Judging from others actions, people don't generally.
However I have made an exception when they get out of their seat and
help me with my bags. A couple of bucks would be sufficient for a
couple fo bags.

On my last trip I parked at a lot near the airport. The shuttle
driver took my stuff on and off the van so a tip was appropriate.
Speaking if tips, I once drove a taxi in New York and there was a
network of information passed along between those who dealt with bad
tippers. Examples:

Passenger gives bad tip or no tip to skycap who tells driver.
If passengers are not headed to a hotel the driver, upon
arriving, simply opens the trunk and does not handle the bags. At the
time the law said a driver could not charge extra for luggage but was
under no obligation to handle it.
If they go to a hotel the people at the hotel will take the luggage.
Driver tells them they are bad tippers. Guests wonder why room service
is so slow.

Buy the spring! It's not a bad idea to find a good hardware store, all
of them will have some drawers with misc hardware, including spring.

Not every wire will make a good spring, most won't. If you have some
piano wire (the name is a bit of a misnomer as it's not for pianos), you
can wind one. Otherwise you'll have springs that will come unsprung!
