Kepe in mind a lot of cheaper netbooks don't use the regular intle-like chip,
but instead use the mobile-device ARM chip, and WinCE not WinXP. What that
means is not all the software you might need will work. You might try
sourceforge.net first to see if they have what you need in an ARM version.

If you are going to go for ARM, consider the 'A-Pad's which use Android.

Their call center CS drones will be of no use.
You need to talk to their people in Miami, used to be called Executive
Resolutions.

Maybe your problem with TracFone is connected with a difficulty in expressing
yourself clearly. You said that you had already paid for renewed service and
you also paid for added minutes but you have not explained anything about the
money order, why it is being requested or what that money would pay for. Is
this new money for something different or replacement money for something
that had been accidentally refunded. Anyway, good luck.

She appears to be saying that they credited her with many more minutes
than she had initially paid for in error and that they refuse to correct that
and want her to pay for those extra minutes they added in error.

Hopeless customer service if thats what happened, presumably
the droid cant work out how to reverse the error and hasnt got
the balls to admit to their supervisor that they cant fix the error,
or the supervisor is just as completely hopeless.

I believe that she said that pretty clear, that she got
extra minutes in error and that they wont fix that error.

Maybe their system wont allow the droids to do that so the droids
cant fiddle with the minutes and do so for people they know.

Yes - I paid for 2 yrs and got 3. They have cut off all service until I
send MO for 3rd yr. (Also 2 yrs was $76/yr - they want ~ $120 for 3rd yr)

I'm not willing to send MO and they won't return the $152

If you've spent, as you say, hours on the phone with them,
then you've spent way too many hours wasting your time.

After five minutes and two or three calls, the proper
step is simply to drop a note to your State Attorney
General and ask them to intervene.

Much simpler. Much more effective.

That's ridiculous. If I were you, I would sue TF in small claims court.

Yes, look for a "second" door or maybe a nice used one. Tempered Glass
is probably a good idea. And some go for a double keyed dead bolt.

Yes, it could work fairly well in places such as Northern Europe and
Canada, but for the most part it is plagued by corruption and
indifference in rich nations and it brings total chaos to little
nations such as Haiti and Ivory Coast...

UNITED NATIONS – U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon warned Tuesday
that the Ivory Coast faces "a real risk" of return to civil war with
mercenaries being recruited from neighboring countries.

Ban thanked the U.N. General Assembly for its support for Africa's
position, backed by the U.N., that opposition leader Alassane Ouattara
defeated President Laurent Gbagbo in the recent election.

For the average Western citizen there's no escape from consumption and
pollution, and elsewhere it puts survival to the test. I TORE OFF MY
DRIVER'S LICENSE and I will try to survive with my folding bike for a
while. Today it seemed as if I rode head on at a car, but it swerved.
I wasn't suicidal, just that there were pedestrians on the sidewalk
and I made a dash to pass them.

But things like that go unnoticed around here. A fancy mixed path is
built with little benefit to the community, but it's left unfinished
where you must take chances on sidewalks. Indifference and corruption
are a way of life.

This is an interesting take on the role of evolution in our daily
choices:

'Today's economics is "hunter economics." We need to move to a more
holistic "hunter-gatherer economics." That means providing an account
of all the discernment and selection women bring to shopping, dating
back to their training, millenia ago, in the art of telling one tiny
poisonous red berry from another tiny, slightly less red, but non-
poisonous berry.'

http://www.ribbonfarm.com/2009/05/28/the-hunter-gatherer-theory-of-markets-and-shopping/

It doesn't say it there, but I interpret that the SUV is the hunting
tool of choice among men, and some women.

A bicycle, by contrast, would be about gathering. The problem is how
difficult it is for the gatherers to survive among the hunters.

How do we move to gathering as an acceptable way of life? We need
livable communities first of all, not gated communities. My campaign
of 'BIKE LOCALLY, BUY LOCALLY' makes sense once again.

The jungle offers both a temptation and a danger to the monkey. He
wisely remains on the treetops from which he has a vantage point. He
knows the dangers and the traps in the jungle as well as where
conditions are fairly clear.

Some gorillas have offered a solution only to turn out worse. The
choice is not A or B, but A, B or C. Those who offer to get rid of all
predators are predators themselves.

Now let's take a country as example, say Brazil, where conditions are
mostly jungle. The city of Curitiba is an example of civilization
where in other cities gangs run the drug trade. First step though is
to determine something IS a jungle and take it from there...

Say that Japan, Canada and Northern Europe are not a jungle and
proceed to apply solutions everywhere. Gated Communities and SUVs are
a sure sign of jungle (gorillas in the midst) as it is the lack of
healthcare. Oh, we don't need to fight a War on Drugs, which creates
the most dangerous conditions.

(A famous character in the wisdom of the jungle is the hunter-
gatherer, which is some sort of "missing link" in the Christian fairy
tales)

I went hunting for related info and I found this...

(shopping at the supermarket)

"By the time you have finished your list has become obsolete and your
trolley overflowing once again with lots of things that will sit in
cupboards and freezers until your next clear out.

So why do we let this happen to us time and time again? I think it's
the hunter-gather in us. Nowadays we hunt and gather in shops instead
of forests but we still like the thrill of the hunt. Now the hunt is
for offers and getting something we think is valuable for less. We
don't like to feel we are missing out on something so we will buy it
telling ourselves we have saved money, so it's a good thing.

So the predators know what makes the people buy, but the Christians
don't have a clue. That's the price of ignoring our past and the
effect of our hunting practices. The hunter comes when they get in
their SUV with all the gathered stuff. A bicycle, on the other hand,
would put a limit on the bags to be carried.

One more time the Wisdom of the Jungle comes handy in our daily
choices. ;)

I don't think Assange can deliver a fatal blow to democracy/
capitalism. All it does it expose what is really behind it, namely BIG
MONEY & CORRUPTION. From here capitalism can turn more toward
TOTALITARIANISM (all those calling for his elimination sound like the
old guard communists) or HUMANISM in which some sort of morality rules
the place.

It exposed the shit going on in the deep jungle...

Don't you want to know stuff like this? I always though the jungle was
a dark, secret place, but not this much.

Democracy/capitalism will deliver us a long agonizing death (maybe
taking a few generations) due to the hungry nature of the system, and
the radicals offer a quick passage to the other world mostly to
satisfy their concept of god. Maybe if we are lucky we go into a
nuclear war with China or something and get it over with.

Ironically, our hunger will affect first the most democratic nation,
where at least you have an option to ride a bicycle everywhere:
Holland.

Is there any morality or fairness in the world?

Since you are allowed to bear arms in the US, why don't you challenge
the TM to a gun fight? As long as one of you gets killed, then we in
the rest of the World won't have to put up with this rubbish any more!

Of course they suffered under Saddam, that's why we worked with the
British to install him in the first place. But it helped our oil
companies and that's why we did it. In fact, for all the lying about
why we needed to go to war with Iraq, the only real reason was one we
didn't use, that we put him in and had the right to take him out.

Do you have any cites for believing that the Iraqis think we are Santa
Claus or that they want us to stay? Do you actually even believe that?
