The above link shows how it works. Savitz studied 138,905 utility
workers, exposed to high levels of EMFs up on power poles. 151 died of
brain cancer. Savitz and Dana Loomis published a paper saying this
meant utility workers were 2.6 times more likely than the general
population to die of brain cancer.

Researcher Philip Cole said hold on, from a control group of 138,905
from general population, one would have expected more, 159, to die of
brain cancer. Savitz said utility workers are so much healthier than
the general population that he would have expected only 58 to die of
brain cancer.

Hmmm... it sounds as if exposure to high levels of EMFs protects a
person from most diseases, but there's not much reduction in brain
cancer. It's quite a jump to say it causes brain cancer.

Nope, that utility workers are nothing like average health wise
quite separately from their exposure to power line fields.

> but there's not much reduction in brain cancer. It's quite a jump to say it causes brain cancer.

Yep, not a shred of evidence that it does. And it would require a matched
group of individuals on health and sex etc to be say anything useful brain
cancer incidence wise, and it would be quite difficult to find a matched
group that werent exposed to other possibilitys like cellphones etc too.

Here's what I could come up with:

Gluttony: food at holiday time--enough said.

Greed: All the presents we want and buy--enough said.

Sloth: putting off buying presents or getting everyone a gift card.

Envy: seeing another person's present and wishing you had gotten it
yourself.

I couldn't come up with one for Lust, Anger or Pride--any suugestions?

Lust, the mistletoe at the office party.
Anger, fighting for parking spaces at the mall.
Pride, is when you brag about how much you spent on present.

Lust: the mistletoe at the office party.
-Does anyone have this at their office party? I've never had it at
any
of mine. I guess you could also say you lust after materail goods as
presents?

Anger: fighting for parking spaces at the mall.
-Wow, I didn't even think of that. One reason I'm trying to avoid
putting off shopping until December.

Pride: when you brag about how much you spent on present.
-Interesting choice. I guess I'm headed that way by trying to get
stuff at my work this weekend with the special 20% employee discount
our store is having this weekend. Unfortunately, I cant seem to find
something for everyone I need to shop for at my store.

I have no idea. Maybe it's something that crept in from the world of
text messaging.

Don't forget the Valentines. I expect Home Good (where I work) to
start getting Valentine stuff in December once the Christmas item
shipments start dwindling. Our Halloween stuff came the last week of
June and Christmas stuff came not too long after and is still coming.
A few harvest items came and are still in the store. We got some
nutcrackers that seem more like something for St. Patrick's Day (they
wear green and are decorated with shamrocks) and that's not even until
March! It's only two weeks until Thanksgiving. Yet I'm planing to
get Christmas presents before this month is over to avoid the
stressful December rushes in stores. And with the special 20%
employee discount this weekend (our employee discount is normally 10%)
how can I resist trying to find a few presents? But I don't want to
get too greedy about this, and unfortunately there isn't something for
everyone I need to get stuff for at my store.

There are no sales at the store where I work, but merchandise gets
marked down after a few months. since there are no sales, we don't
expect to have a big crowd the day after Thanksgiving. it wasn't
that busy last year on that date. And we're across the street from
Wal-Mart, which no doubt was busy that day last year and again this
year.

If you celebrate being free of the EX, no shopping needed.

Probably some decent alcohol the first day, but then it's low-rent.

Did you place in the Halloween costume contest? If you do say no,
don't ever sweat it...there's always a devil costume with bare cheeks

No, I never got to make that costume. I wasn't happy about it and was
ready to resort to nothing. But I did do something else. I was
afraid I would not ever want to do the seven deadly sisn aagain, but
decided to try again. Will get started early next year.

I bet we will; it's just going to take a nother year or two, and a few
more years before something like that is on the market and with good color
and god color rendering and at a price at which they are not at a major
economic disadvantage against CFLs.
