* If you would rather search for used dresses online, you will have the luxury
of shopping from your home at your leisure. You will not however have the
luxury of trying the dresses on or being able to review the dresses for
imperfections. Use your search engine to locate "used dresses" in online
stores. Some sites will offer the used dresses in an auction form, awarding
the dresses to the highest bidder. If you have time to wait for the bidding to
end, this can be a great option to find luxury and designer dresses at
affordable prices. If you are pressed for time or do not like the auction
style format, consider online consignment shops where you can purchase used
dresses for immediate shipment. Both online shopping store types offer name
brand, designer and high quality dresses at affordable prices. Be sure to
review the item descriptions to determine the quality of the clothing before
purchasing as well as the shipping prices. - 1 messages, 1 author

Frankly, I wasn't sure if you weren't having us all on, since
the statement above is so full of confusion and misinformation
that I thought you were a troll.

All Internet Surveillance Providers used to offer Usenet access
as part of the basic package, MANY MOONS ago. As a smaller and
smaller /percentage/ of internet users access the Usenet, many
have dropped that service and others will continue to do so.
Those that still provide it do a lousy job with limited groups,
low retention, and no service.

ANY computer with a newsreader program can access ANY Usenet
server in the world, it's just like visiting a web site
anywhere. I use www.usenetrocket.com which has a 6GB/$7.50 (for
TEN years) pay-as-you-go plan. Whenever you need more, you buy
more. If you don't access their server for three months, it
costs you nothing. Retention is 2-3 months plus depending on
groups, more than enough for anyone IMO.

If you are not interested in binaries, you just might be able to
get 10 years of Usenet for $7.50. The service is second to none
since it's a small operation by a person who cares about his
customers. Try getting ANY service from some of the "big"
premium providers.

Xnews is an excellent though slightly complicated free
newsreader. GrabIt is a less excellent but super-simple free
newsreader - it's more of a binary grabber than a post-oriented
program, but you CAN post with it, and needless to say, read
text as well.

Of course, it is no easy matter to be polite; in so far, I mean,
as it requires us to show great respect for everybody, whereas
most people deserve none at all; and again in so far as it
demands that we should feign the most lively interest in people,
when we must be very glad that we have nothing to do with them.

It's not really that they don't provide access "via Outlook Express."
It's rather that they don't provide a news server. so you can't access
*their* news server at all, whether via Outlook Express or any other
newsreader.

If you want to use these Microsoft newsgroups, the best way to get to
them is via Microsoft's news server, msnews.microsoft.com. You can use
that with Outlook Express (or any newsreader), even with your ISP.

If you want to access other, non-Microsoft, newsgroups, such as those
in the alt. hierarchy, try the free news.motzarella.org news server,
which also works with Outlook Express or any newsreader.

Yes, there are plenty of commercial newsgroup providers that work fine with OE.

They're fools.

Hundreds. Google "news+servers" yields over 7 million hits.

On the larger question of the competency of your prospective ISP, on a scale
of one-to-ten, I'd rate them somewhere near the baked-beans aisle.

Gunner wants to run over and kill (murder) children if they impede his
forward progress with his truck, carrying all those valuable parts and tools
you know. Christ ... if only I had some parts and tools and a truck to drive
them in like he does, then I could murder children too. Life is not fair!

Nor do I! But you have a peculiar attitude for someone who rides bicycles.
Every cyclist who has ever ridden his bike on the open road has experienced
motorists who bully them because they do not want them on the road - period!
It is a wonder to me that more cyclists do not track down such motorists and
literally murder them!

I am the foremost advocate of cyclists NOT taking the lane when there is any
traffic at all. This thread is not about obeying traffic laws, but about
bullying truck drivers who think cyclists have no right to be on the road.
Unless you are cyclist yourself who has ridden the open road, you do not
know what the hell you are talking about.

They can only be happy that we don't work together for the same thing:
cyclists' rights.

But do you have any revolution, webpage or something to show you have
some solution, or you are just a monkey with pretensions?

This story serves as a perfect illustration of why socialism
doesn't work. Ontario tried to be good samaritans and
provide 18 people with a free place to stay, now that
number is over 300 and this organized blight is spreading
to adjoining neighborhoods.

My favorite quote from the article:

"The city started something it couldn't finish."

Give up on a compact fluourescent there, use a normal incandescent of 100W
or so. The power useage difference will be minimal with a bathroom light.

There's technical problems with doing that.

Those CFLs with pins generaly lack ballasts, so the ballast is probably
in the fixture. The ballast largely determines how much power will go
into the CFL.

Some possibilities for most likely minor improvement:

1. Nutone is not one of the major brands. By many accounts, the most
reputable brands are the "Big 3" - Sylvania (or Osram/Sylvania), Philips
and GE.
In my experience, light output from a Big-3 and a non-Big-3 pin-base
ballastless CFL is usually about the same. But you may have a chance for
improvement.
If these are not available at home centers, try electric/lighting supply
shops.

2. You may want to try a different color. This can affect how bright the
room appears.
Color of compact fluorescents and other triphosphor fluorescents is
usually stated by color temperature or a 2-digit abbreviation of color
temperature.
Higher color temperature can sometimes make a room appear brighter due
to better stimulation of scotopic vision - although some studies in this
area are not fully accepted.
Having color temperature unusually high for a given lighting level can
lead to a "dreary gray" effect.

27 / 2700 - The usual CFL color. Most people find this one best for
most interior home lighting, especially in less-bright areas.

30 / 3000 - A less common one, only slightly whiter than 2700.

35 / 3500 - A "whiter but still warm" color, often found to be good
for brighter interior home lighting, such as in bathrooms.

41 / 4100 - Plain neutral white. Can cause a "dreary gray effect"
unless lighting level is of brightness typical of offices,
classrooms and retail stores.

50 / 5000 - Icy cold pure white, easily causes a "dreary gray effect"
in home lighting, despite color being about the same as that
of sunlight with the sun high in the sky and with clear air.

One more thing - CFLs often need half a minute to a minute to warm up to
achieve full brightness. Ones with outer bulbs around the tubing tend to
have a greater need to warm up and need more time to warm up. In
bathrooms that people use at night, this often comes in handy - the lights
are dimmed at first!

Amazingly, I'd agree with you. Unfortunately, this is a Kalifornia home the
OP was asking about. If incandescent is still legal there, it won't be
soon. I believe (google it) that California has already outlawed
incandescents.

What the OP needs is a whole new lighting fixture, but one that will accept
a larger CFL bulb, or multiple CFL bulbs. The best solution would be to
replace the CFL fixture with an incandescent fixture, if that was legal.
But it's not. -Dave

Completely trivial to get a decent supply of whatever turns out
to give enough light from outside that state using the net etc.

Completely trivial to do an end run around that stupid law.

actually quite enjoyable- don't tell the lads! There is something
quite enjoyable about pulling on a top class suit and strutting around
like a Pratt. It is especially enjoyable if you sing the Reservoir

looking smart for an event is enjoyable and better still the girls
love it. If you turn up looking like James Bond the women will find

best suit and at what occasions can you wear a hire suit?

Home owners can stop the foreclosure of their home.

The biggest thing they MUST DO is to Talk to Their Lenders.

Bank and Mortgage Companies do not want to foreclosure on your home.
They will be foredto if you don't talk to them.

Scratched And Dented: The Ugly Truth About Watches
Few things are more frustrating to the owner than a high-end watch
sitting in a box rarely used. These watches, which we spend hundreds
of dollars on, sit unused in boxes because we don't want them to wear
down. We'd rather reserve them for an occasion that happens only once
each year, and strap on that $10 Timex for the rest of the year.

As you start your search, look for deep discounts at flea markets and
thrift stores. These stores will have a large volume to select from
and often have the deepest discounts. You will need to set aside a
large amount of time to search and dig though all of the clothing
items, but you are sure to leave with a handful of great clothing
items at affordable prices.

If you are looking for a shopping experince that it more organized,
start your shopping in resale shops. The price range will vary here
and there will be a selection from new to very used clothes.

If you are looking for newer clothes and you don't mind spending a
higher amount per item, shop in consignment shops. The clothing that
is offered is generally from the past few years and is sold for up to
60% off the suggested retail pricing. If you don't want to shop in a
physical location, you can shop online in either consignment shops or
auction sites.

When you are shopping for used clothing, be sure to review the
clothing items over for defects prior to purchasing. If you are
online, read the item descriptions carefully, work with a reputable
site and be sure to take into account the shipping cost before you
make your purchase. Shopping for used clothing is a great way to build
your wardrobe at an affordable price.

Distinction:

One main reason for having uniforms is so that combatants can
distinguish individuals protected by the laws of war and those who are
allowed to carry weapons. Some individuals in war who carry weapons
and fight back are often not protected by these laws. One other reason
was to prevent army deserters from being able to modify their clothing
to reflect more ordinary civilian clothing. The uniforms themselves
were so distinct in design and style that these deserters could be
easily identified.

Visibility & Camouflage:

The evolution of military uniforms from bright colors (to help in
identification on a battle field) to more camouflaged ones (where they
become virtually indistinguishable from the surrounding landscape) is
a clear indication of the purpose of a uniform. While previously
important to find units in battle, the evolution of warfare has
necessitated the more stealthier aspects of armies and hence more
attention to camouflage.
