I ran across this last week and it caught my attention so I thought I
would share.

This is not a sales pitch and there is nothing to buy. There is no
squeeze page that is designed to sell you anything later either.

This is an event that you should know about...

right? Yeah, no doubt Americans will break the down the doors of
factories like the following. After all, they are paying as much as
$12/hr. And the working conditions are very "clean". So c'mon all you

"The brains were pooled, poured into 10-pound containers and shipped to
be sold as food ‹ mostly in China and Korea, where cooks stir-fry them,
but also in some parts of the American South, where people like them
scrambled up with eggs.

The person blowing brains was separated from the other workers by a
plexiglass shield that had enough space under it to allow the heads to
ride through on a conveyor belt. There was also enough space for brain
tissue to splatter nearby employees.

³You could see aerosolization of brain tissue,² Dr. Lynfield said.

The workers wore hard hats, gloves, lab coats and safety glasses, but
many had bare arms, and none had masks or face shields to prevent
swallowing or inhaling the mist of brain tissue.

Dr. Lynfield asked Mr. Wadding, ³Kelly, what do you think is going on?²

The plant owner watched for a while and said, ³Let¹s stop harvesting
brains.²

So there you have it. These are good, hi-paying jobs going to brown
Mexicans when they could be going to increase the size of the white
American middle class. Imagine the boon to the American economy if every
potential Rosie the Riveter became a patriotic Betsy the Brain Blower.
Ha! WHAT recession? Betsy could festoon her new pork-brain-grey SUV with
red-white-and-blue sticker magnets and little Christian fish symbols!
Just think of how world hunger could be reduced with a steady supply of
top-quality, American-produced hog brains feeding the starving masses.

I bet the plant owner would allow the workers to bring some delicious
hog-brain slurry home for their own families to eat, too! MMMM-mmm! Man,
that's some good brain slurry.

And the liberals don't think Americans would work the jobs immigrants
take. Sheesh. What fantasy world are *they* living in?

increase the pay rate. If they doubled they hourly wage the line out
front of applicants would stretch for blocks, and the price of the
meat might increase ten percent or so. If the factory were to hire
citizens who are covered OSHA and able to form unions, the conditions
would improve.

They already have unions in that plant. Try to keep up. There is a
recession. Employers don't have to double wages, they could pretty much
cut them. They've got *all* workers exactly where they want them: on the
bread lines. See? No discrimination in the business world! Have a nice
day.

None of the workers in that plant are "illegal" as you call them. They
all have their documents. "Illegal" aliens working in pig plants are so
old news. Oh,but wait- "legality" never was the *real* question, was

Well they could do that with the workers they have right now. They have
a union. And they are still getting so sick they can't even stand up.
Wow, unions and OSHA really protected those brown guys, huh? They would
probably do better with "real" Americans.

Oh, wait, the story talks of an unbelievably sick 17-year female plant
worker by the name of Kruze (pronounced CROO zee) who is white enough to
tell the reporter, "...I have brains on my arms ALL the time." Before
the interview, she didn't know her illness could be related to the
medical investigation at work, no did she know her co-workers (or should
I say cow-orkers? Or hogworkers?) were getting sick, either.

Ha-ha! Those workers, boy! You just can't get material like that from
professional writers.

Kruse will be okay, though. She goes to the local right-wing church, so
when she dies, she will at least meet Jesus. Kin I git a Amen, pussies?

Many are familiar with the work of the Dollar Stretcher and the Tightwad
Gazette, but not my work - "Cheapo Groovo". I believe their work is
groundbreaking stuff. I'm trying to take what they have done to the next
level.

Here are the ways I have tried to improve on their work and all the
other "money" blogs:
1. Income and investing posts as well as frugal posts
2. Focusing on universal money saving ideas, no matter your life
stage
3. Easy to read posts that can be read and absorbed in seconds
4. Multimedia presentations - audio, video, photos
5. Eliminate information overload - no more than 15 new posts per
month
6. An actual M.B.A. is behind the posts not a "want to be"

Please understand that I'm not saying to ignore discussion boards or
other web sites. Other folks do a much better job at recipes, raising
kids cheaply, or how to change your psychological makeup so you become a
frugal zealot.

There is no DRM on digital cable TV broadcasts. You can record them the
same as standard over the air television broadcasts.

that DRM.

I've got a (hopefully) quick question about a deferred compensation (457
retirement plan) to Roth IRA direct rollover we made. As a quick overview,
we are doing a direct transfer of about $4,300 or so from my wife's Ohio
deferred compensation retirement plan into a Roth IRA each year. We will
need to do this for another 2 years before the full amount has been directly
rolled over to a Vanguard Roth IRA.

I just did a test run of filling out the form 1040 for this year. I
looked back at last year's reaturn, and noticed that the person who filled
everything out for us set this up on the 1040 under 15a and 15b. He wrote
the total under "IRA distributions", and then wrote the same total in 15b as
a taxable amount. I looked back at last year's forms 1099-R, and both of
them (the one from the Ohio plan, and the one from Vanguard) showed that no
Federal income tax was withheld. Since this money was going from a plan
where it was put in tax free to one where you pay the tax up front, but
never again (Roth), I just assumed that this was right, and that the
distribution, though the $ never went to us, was correctly entered as an
addition of roughly $4,000 to our income that year.

However, now that I'm looking at it, I'm wondering if it should have been
put under 16a & 16b instead? It wasn't an IRA direct rollover/distribution,
it was an Ohio Deferred Compensation retirement plan. (457 plan) Thus,
since the money didn't originate with an IRA, I don't really think it should
have been entered as an IRA distribution on the tax form. Am I right or
wrong here?

I also noticed that this year there is a discrepancy that could affect a
lot of things on my 1040 tax form. Just like last year, I got 2 1099-R
forms - 1 from the Ohio Deferred Compensation group (where it originated)
and 1 from Vanguard. (where it ended up) Unlike last year, however, the two
don't agree.

The Ohio Deferred 1099-R form shows Gross Distribution of $4,325, while
the Vanguard 1099-R form shows a Gross Distribution of $4,333.50 instead.
(box 1) The former shows a taxable amount of zero, while the latter shows a
taxable amount of $4,333.50. (box 2a) The biggest difference, however, is
in box 4. In the former, it shows Federal Income Tax withheld of zero,
while the Vanguard form shows $433.35 withheld.

I'm not sure what to make of these discrepancies. One form from where the
$ ended up seems to show that 10% was already withheld in taxes. However,
the originating form seems to say that nothing was withheld. I'm not sure
which one to include with my form 1040. Obviously I don't want to be double
taxed if they have already withheld the $.

I'm fully expecting to get a runaround if we contact both parties, with
each blaming the other. Can anyone shed some light on how this sort of
discrepancy might occur? I'm pretty sure tax is indeed owed on this
transfer, though it was direct and we never got a check or anything. Now I
just want to make sure that I don't end up paying the tax twice, if it has
already been collected.
