In modern countries, we pour soda into a cup, stir in cherry syrup, add
ice, and drink through a straw. If you try it, I'm sure you'll quit
drinking it by the handful or using it to bathe or wash your hair.

St. Jude says,
"Right now,a child is kneeling in prayer to me,
and this child is begging for a life to be spared, for the
child cannot bear to lose the life that he feels belongs
to him. Many stand at this bedside. I am there. And
We know that if this child is spared, that the very one
who prays for this will lead this child to despair. I
ask you now, 'What would God's Will be for this child
who stands on the brink of Eternity?'"
REVELATION DELIVERED THROUGH FRANCES M. KLUG ON FEBRUARY 16,1972 AT
11:15 A.M.
SAINT JUDE
"My beloved children, as I spoke through the
child, all Heaven smiled upon each one here, for in your
little way you did not expect Us to be speaking Our
way. Very often We use you to extend God's Love to
another man. Very often We use you to help another
man, God's Way. There are so many times that you,
in your little way, do not listen Our way, for you become
so preoccupied with things of so little worth. This was
done to you today to show you how We could speak
through someone else to guide you. If each child here
will picture God standing in the Heavens, you will see
Him with His Hand on every child's head, never letting
go. And sometimes when you feel He's not there, He
is; it is only you who let go.
All through time man has been taught to look to
truth, to look to the lessons that have come forth. The
Heavenly Mother has appeared many times, seeking
children out, and now again Heaven comes forward,
reassuring you of God's Hand, telling you about God's
Will and asking you to hold tight to His Hand.
I am a Saint. I was man. I am Saint Jude.
Children pray for the impossible way and I do hear every
prayer they say. I intercede to God for the prayer to
be answered His Way. Oftentimes He will say, 'Jude,
will this bring the child My Way?' And I must face
Him with the truth and say, 'It will only appease the
child, man's way.' And with His Love, He looks at
me and says, 'Help the child, My Way.' So you see,
my children, if you have prayed, and you have felt your
prayers were not answered your way, know that God
knew what was best, and I carried out His Words, His
Way, for what was best for you that day.
Right now,a child is kneeling in prayer to me,
and this child is begging for a life to be spared, for the
child cannot bear to lose the life that he feels belongs
to him. Many stand at this bedside. I am there. And
We know that if this child is spared, that the very one
who prays for this will lead this child to despair. I
ask you now, 'What would God's Will be for this child
who stands on the brink of Eternity?' Your answer is,
'Oh, Saint Jude, let God's Will be done, not his.' And
so it is, my children, you must have faith, have trust
in what occurs, and do not shout at God and say, 'You
do not love me today, You do not give me my way.'
This is sadness to be heard, for you see, you must learn
to depend upon The Holy Trinity, for that is what is
wrong with the world.
You live in a time worse than Sodom and
Gomorrah. And God is coming through this child to
give you strength, to give you hope, to give you love,
so you will not fade into the world. There is no
stronger love than God's. There is no stronger strength
than His. There is no greater hope than the one He
gives, and that, my children, is for each of you to one
day really live.
You are blessed through this Miracle of The
Beloved Saint Joseph. And as I explained the Hill to
you, We smiled in Heaven, for We knew your thoughts;
and with some of you, your eagerness to do. And those
of you who felt the beauty of the Hill are blessed, for
the Hill is Hope. The Hill, in many ways, will be a
test, for God's Will must be done in every spot on this
ground.
And when men enter the gate, from that moment
on, they will feel the power in the Hill, they will feel
the grace. And as they wander to the top they will
learn Bible History, God's Way. The Crucifixion site
will be placed in such a way that man will walk the
path to Calvary that The Son of God did take one day,
and this will renew men's knowledge of this Hill. And
God does want men to see The Heart that had to be so
filled with love that It withstood every test.
I bless you in the Name of God. I bless you with
The Heart that The Son did give to give you life, and
I bless you with the Light of Heaven to light the path
for each child. So be it."

Black, of course, would be a better solar absorber. But that isn't the
real problem. Only part of the slab will be heated directly by sunlight,
the rest will have to be conducted or convected in. Concrete does a poor
job of that. That is why Rod had those rooms full of gravel for air to
flow through and convect heat in and out.
Forget thermal storage in the slab. As pointed out elsewhere, even if
you could heat the slab throughout it would take more slab than you had.
If you really have excess heat to store, store it in water. Either
passively in stacks of bottles to maximize surface, or actively by an
air to water heat exchanger (radiator). But you will have a hard time
getting there.

Not enough to matter. The surface of the slab does get nice and hot.
The problem is that the thermal conductivity of solid concrete isnt that
great, so you dont heat much thickness of the slab.

How would one INCREASE the "thermal conductivity" of
concrete?
Or.... is it just best to forget abt using concrete as
a storage mass and use something like barrels of water,
etc?

Nope, it is all just copy and paste. I am way too lazy to ever stalk anyone.
As you should know by now, the only person in this world I care about is
MYSELF - and former Vice President Cheney of course. He should be on Mount
Rushmore for getting this nation to kick Muslim ass.

A voice from the past! Wasn't your hotmail address taken over or
phished a while back? I can tell it is really you by the way you
wrote your post. Hmmm... was she in St Petersburg FL or somewhere
like that?
Chickpea, who just happened to do a random and rare check here.

This thread is starting to make me all nostalgic for the golden days
of this group. We even have a thread subject that harkens back to the
last century. Maybe we can get some more old timers to show up. Except
for Old_Timer who is probably dead by now.

Yes, I mounted a moving block of wood that in it's normal position lets
the flush handle only flush while you hold it against the stop.
for #2 , you swing the block out of the way and the handle travels its
normal full flush amount.
I've saving water and a load on the septic tank. it is getting into the
rainey season.
and I add "Septic Helper" every week or two.
Have a fine day.
OK

I acomplished the same thing by mounting a few fishing weights
on the Flapper valve. Actually I mounted them to the flapper
lift chain, low, down near the flapper so that when the flush handle
is released, the weights press on the flapper.
Anyway, a quick push and release of the flush handle causes the
valve to open and close. That only releases enough water for
a #1 flush. Holding the handle down gives a good long flush
for #2.

You may be spending money needlessly. Dunno about "septic helper"
but unless you have an enormous volume from, say, a hu-u-uge family,
and/or flush large volumes of caustic chemicals, one only needs to add
"Rid-x" to the septic system every 3-5 years or so. I keep a diary of
household stuff like that (hey, I even write the installation date on
"light bulbs") and I know that I add "Rid-x" every third year,
"whether I need it or not" ;-) My septic system was installed in the
late 1960's and, although we've had two incidents with the drain field
during that time, I'm dead certain the septic tank never has received
service. However, we've never had more than four people -- and now
only two -- using the system regularly. Likewise, my parents' septic
system was installed in1958 and, although, for most of those years
only three people used the system regularly, it was subject to
periodic hordes of family. I am equally certain that the tank received
no service between 1958 and August 2006, when I sold the house. That
once-a-month business is a sales job. In fact, I can remember when
"Rid-x" advertised itself as an annual treatment.
