However, I bought a Brother laser printer for less than $200 over 10 years ago. Still works fine most of the time - occasionally chokes on cardstock when printing postcards, but is fine if I only load 2 or 3 sheets at a time. |

I recently spent a few bucks for a new "separation pad" and feed roller for my ancient thrift shop HP LJ6L, which works like new now. I still have a few "new" toners for it that someone freecycled to me years ago. The last thing I bought for printing was 15 or 20 years ago when I bought a full box of paper (5000 sheets) at a thrift shop for a few dollars. I also have a magicolor 2430DL color laser printer I received through freecycle that I use if I need color printing or faster printing. I have done nothing to it but a couple of small adjustments. I quickly learned that inkjet printers were way more trouble and expense than they were worth. |
