I don't want an icemaker or water dispenser -- just the space that both would use. Even when I specify NONE in various search functions, I end up with one or both. I'm tired of looking... While waiting for the repairman to show up the next day I checked online for French door, bottom freezer refrigerators without ice maker or water. I could find no available USA refrigerators without the ice maker but could find them without water dispensers. Both brands I looked at were the 25 c.f. models. Fortunately, my freezer was a $200 repair but I did tell the repair guy I had been looking at new 'fridges in case he said mine was ready for the landfill. He said if I ever wanted to replace to go with the Whirlpool and forget the LG. Parts were hard to get and they broke down frequently because of a design flaw. A design flaw LG was aware of but unwilling to correct. |

When I had the freezer repaired in this top freezer model the repairman removed it at my request. |

I had searched online and the one I wanted was in stock at H.D. and the price in the store was around $200 cheaper than the advertised online price. But yes, you can request them not hook up the ice maker. When my repaired Whirlpool was and delivered back in the Dark Ages I didn't even have a water line run so not hooking it up was no problem. The automatic ice maker is the weakest element on a refrigerator and not hooking it up will save you money not having to have it repaired. Plus the savings of not buying water filters for it every 30, 60, or 90 days. |

After I calculated the add-ons to the prices - shipping, handling and processing, state sales tax and a $1.50 service charge it was half the cost of the articles I wanted. Seems a bit greedy to me. I decided to buy the stuff elsewhere. -- I love a good meal! That's why I don't cook. |

The shipping charges are outrageous and _usually_ I can find the same product locally, on eBay, or at Amazon. A $3.99 object with a $5.99 shipping charge does not make me rush to add that item to my cart. |
