Another consideration is harvesting time. Grapes are cut off in bunches at
once versus one at a time for strawberries.

I don't know how the Mormons will prepare for a nuclear disaster, but
this is a good place to start: CHERNOBYL...
"A handful of dilapidated roads cross the zone, half-overgrown with
weeds and grasses, and the whole area is littered with pockets of
intense radiation, but nature doesn't seem to mind. All nature seems
to care about is that the people, along with their domestic animals,
are for the most part gone. The zone is reverting to one big, untamed
forest, and it all sounds like a fantastic success story for nature:
remove the humans and the wilderness bounces right back. Lured by
tales of mammals unknown in Europe since the Dark Ages, we're setting
out on an atomic safari."
http://outsideonline.com/adventure/travel-ga-201103-chernobyl-wildlife-refuge-sidwcmdev_154483.html
***
Did "Dark Ages" remind you of the Christians? ;)
Life will go on after and other species will conquer the Earth. This
is a wise comment (Wisdom of the Jungle) somebody wrote...
"This was an interesting article. I don't think this was meant to be
read as scientific research, but more an observation of what post
nuclear meltdown looks like when there hasn't been human intervention.
I very seriously doubt that the writer is suggesting that nuclear
fallout is good for the planet, even when describing the surroundings
as Eden. He is commenting on the fascinating way flora and fauna has
reacted and adapted to the environment, through mutations and
evolution."

Wait, aren't Christians supposed to be the stewards of the Earth? In
America we have the technological, political and military power to
change things and yet we don't. We are the worst predators.
Or maybe the Christians following God's command to conquer the Earth
means wiping out species, or at least a command to consider that God
only cares about one species --us. Yes, we are so special that God put
everything around us to serve us...
I see a strong Christian opposition to both Climate Change and
adapting to more eco-friendly transportation modes. Don't they see
they are slowly suffocating the planet and wiping out whole ecosystems
to make parking lots and urban sprawl?
The Christians must accept this:
WE ARE ALL ANIMALS THOUGH SOME ARE MORE ANIMALS THAN OTHERS.
Bipedalism doesn't make us better, or else we would have, 'TWO LEGS
GOOD, FOUR LEGS BAD.'
Or pay the price for such ignorance. I just claim a higher wisdom...

Your defense of the Christians --I'm assuming you are one-- seems
quite naive and confused as much as the incrimination of the Indians
is unfair. When they drove those species into extinction they had no
way they are were doing so. They didn't sell their skins either to
make a fortune, as it seems the Indians had a very down to earth way
of life, even among the chiefs. In any case, it ain't like the priests
today who secure the best real estate.

Well, the Romans did a pretty good workout at driving extinct many
species at the Colosseum. But weren't successful at exterminating the
Christians.

You got everything upside down and the Christians escape with no
responsibility for their ignorance. To begin with, many Liberals do
believe in God somewhat more mildly. What the conservative Christians
can't stand is the SCIENTISTS because they are confirming EVOLUTION
and CLIMATE CHANGE, and that would mean that they would have to make
certain changes to the core beliefs and lifestyle.
They would simply miss is socializing in church and the SUV to show
how much progress they have made in life.
