I guess they asked people who didn't worry about being laid off or
about getting sick.

People enjoy long vacations, low crime, and a healthier lifestyle
where they walk or bike.

I think our "pursuit of happiness" has become a Rat Race for survival,
and once that happens there's no happiness possible.

We must slow down and ride a bike or lay back in a hammock, not unlike
Key West.

"A trip to Key West is a vacation to one of the music capitols of
America and will surely evoke a deep desire to leave the RAT RACE
behind. Soak up the tropical sun while listening to original Key West
Music playing in the breezes and sip a cold beer. While maybe not the
center of the universe, it certainly comes close to being paradise."

Finland has greatly reduced it's suicide rate because it developed
programmes to deal with and recognise depression. Finland's rates for
suicide are now on par with France and Australia and New Zealand and Canada.
When Finland experienced their great economic boom in the 1960s and 1970s
they forgot to deal with health care issues, amongst them mental health.
But they have since corrected that.

Countries such as Russia, Ukraine and Japan all lead Finland in suicides as
well as Estonia, and Latvia and Lithuania, who themselves are facing the
same economic growth pangs that Finland faced in the 60's and 70's.

No it hasnt. Its just reduced it a bit and its not quite as outrageous as it once was.

> because it developed programmes to deal with and recognise depression.

Still blows a damned great hole in the mindlessly silly happiness claim.

If they really were that happy, that wouldnt have been necessary.

> Finland's rates for suicide are now on par with France and Australia and New Zealand and Canada.

Another pig ignorant lie, and if they really are one of the happiest
countrys, it would be much lower than those countrys anyway.

> When Finland experienced their great economic boom in the 1960s and 1970s they forgot to deal with health care issues,

Have fun explaining why they had the highest suicide rate in the entire world.

> But they have since corrected that.

Nope, ALL they have done is make the evidence that its nothing
like one of the happiest countrys in the world less visible.

Its completely stupid to be claiming that if you can stop those who
want to suicide from doing that, that those are anything like happy.

> Countries such as Russia, Ukraine and Japan all lead Finland in suicides

By fuck all.

Its got nothing to do with economic growth pangs.

It is hardly anyone who gets that effect 30 mins after eating any wheat.

Oh, and if you really think you haven't met anyone else who doesn;t
eat wheat, you're either the biggest douche out there (well, yeah, you
are) or you don't get out much. I don't eat wheat because it's BAD FOR
HUMAN BEINGS, and it doesn't taste particularly wonderful. It's not
like I miss it. Didn't "discover" it until I was in college. Don't
really understand all the fuss about it. Totally missable. Sorry
you're such a douche. Oh wait, I'm not. Re-Plonk!

I'm suprized that Wal*Mart chicken nuggets contain any chicken at all.
In fact, that might be the reason they're being recalled.

TOPIC: Illegal aliens cost Americans $113/billion yearly

The cost of harboring illegal immigrants in the United States is a
staggering $113 billion a year — an average of $1,117 for every
"native-headed" household in America — according to a study conducted
by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

FAIR's report argues that there are two choices in the immigration
debate: "One choice is pursuing a strategy that discourages future
illegal migration and increasingly diminishes the current illegal
alien population through denial of job opportunities and deportations.
The other choice," it says, "would repeat the unfortunate decision
made in 1986 to adopt an amnesty that invited continued illegal
migration."

The report states that an amnesty program wouldn't appreciably
increase tax revenue and would cost massive amounts in Social Security
and public assistance expenses. An amnesty "would therefore be an
accentuation of the already enormous fiscal burden," the report
concludes.

$113 Billion a year? How can we afford this?

Read the full story here. All posts are welcome on this site.

How do you put a price tag on those hundreds killed yearly by
illegals? What about pricing the decay spread to once peaceful small
towns?

The time is fast approaching when Americans will have to lynch those
who knowingly employ illegals. "Milder" punishment would be to seize
all of their business assets.

It is probably all the money we owe them anyway for giving them below
minimium wages and working in extreme work environments. So it comes
out even. Pay back is a bitch huh!

Among Washington insiders FAIR enjoys a high level of respect. I have
read other estimates, taking in every aspect of their presence, as
high as $383 billion a year. How do we put a price tag on the hundreds
of deaths caused by yearly by illegal alien drivers alone? What about
senior citizens forced to abandon their neighborhoods.

If you want to question numbers try the governments figure of 12
million illegal immigrants. They have been using that number for
10 years.

That figure has been completely discredited. It largely consisted of
numbers pulled off a talk show.

There is no positive aspect to illegal immigration. Deport all
illegals, to
include europeans and asians.

These rotten bastards have nothing but lies. Unfortunately a good
portion of American voters are too lazy to investigate or just don't
care as long as the lies are against the present government.

After these people are lynched or have their business assets seized who is
going to make up for the economic impact of jobs lost and no tax revenue
from either the owners or their legal employees? Hell, even the illegals
pay sales taxes on what they buy even if their employers don't pay the
social security tax.

No need to seize assets or lynch. Just throw the illegal employers in jail. The
problem won't continue for long.

I've come into a bit of money and I'd like to set up an investment
(for retirement).

At the moment, houses are cheap, and there is a demand for rentals.
I'm thinking of a self directed Roth IRA, to own part of a house.

Any recommendations on self directed Roth IRAs? What I have seen so
far wants to put the money in Mutual Funds, and that is not what I want.

Or maybe they have a better life because religion is fading.

Here the taxes are lower, but they are totally squandered in wars and
contracts without ever solving anything.

There's a 1 mile long fancy mixed path around here (for riding bikes,
walking dogs, etc) that hasn't solved the problem that people must
ride bike on sidewalks to do errands. It is the owners of the dogs
that are happy with it and they are affluent. I've given up on
bureaucracies ever solving the problem in America without shaking the
tree. There's Big Black Hole that swallows everything.

I guess they asked people who didn't worry about being laid off or
about getting sick.

People enjoy long vacations, low crime, and a healthier lifestyle
where they walk or bike.
