Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional,
illogical liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an
unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the
proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Dunno, but I recently acquired an old one that sounds a bit like a tram
bell. None of your pissy "tink tink" or "brring brring" My bike says

Sounding a horn other than when for an emergency situation violates
the municipal code (ordinance) in some communities and is generally
found and defined under the category of noise pollution.

Calories expended to digest food become heat, which offsets need of the
body to burn calories to produce heat.

The body doesnt always need to burn calories to produce
heat, because the body doesnt always need to be heated.
And not all calories that go into the mouth are digested either.

The calorie labeling on food packages in the USA are normally according
to a method that takes into account digestion. That's why fiber does not
have its calories included in the calorie count on food packages, and why
protein is counted as 4 calories per gram instead of 5.3.

That last is a pretty crude simplification tho.

Re: Area rugs on carpets keep moving
******************************************************
When I lay area rugs over carpets with kids around the area rugs move
around and turn up at the corners and gets ruined.
How can I keep these area rugs from moving ?
We used the rubber/latex available at Home Depot for this purpose.
Using this, the area rugs hold on tile but not on carpet.
Can anyone suggest anything ?
Thanks,
Kim

Do you know what escrow is? It is the amount set aside to pay things like property tax, homeowners insurance, local school taxes, etc. Ours is about 4% of the sale price of our house. Yearly. Yes, that hurts. But considering that it covers taxes and (mandatory) insurance, there isn't much that you can do about it but pay it. That, or lose the house.
Unless I misunderstood and what they are charging you is something different. -Dave

TOPIC: Can anyone update anything in the XM Radio account page (Listener Care)?

When I login to my account in xmradio.com, on the main page "Listener
Care" (https://xmro-secure.xmradio.com/listenercare/checkPermission.xm?
forwardto=/listenercare/sec/accountupdate/updateBillingInfo.xm ), if I
select option such as "Change Your Contact & Billing Information" or
"Change Contact Preferences" or " Redeem a Gift Card", it always pops
up a javascript message "We are in the process of updating your
account. Certain features will be inaccessible for the next 10
minutes. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause."
However, that message has ALWAYS been staying there, not just for 10
minutes, but for at least past 3 years. I had searched over the
Internet but nobody mentioned it. Why?
This prevents me from updating my account information online. It
forces me to call, which put me on hold forever. Even once I did call
and I mentioned the above problem to a rep, she told me to wait 10
minutes to retry; it would work. But it never worked. Thank God, I
used one-time use credit card number in the beginning. I simply called
my credit card company to cancel my number, and Xmradio will never be
able to bill me again.
Be the way, on a technical note, when I carefully examined the main
page's script, I removed the redundant "forwarding" part in the URL
and change the original link (https://xmro-secure.xmradio.com/
listenercare/checkPermission.xm?forwardto=/listenercare/sec/
accountupdate/updateBillingInfo.xm ) to (
https://xmro-secure.xmradio.com/listenercare/sec/accountupdate/updateBillingInfo.xm
), it brought me to the Change Your Contact & Billing Information page
right away. I was glad I could bypass their defective webpage, only
did I realize later that I could not actually go any further from
there, because it would still show "We are in the process of updating
your account. Certain features will be inaccessible for the next 10
minutes. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause."
message again once I clicked the submit button. This time I could not
do anything, because the next step was a server side script.
