Sounds like the last batch of batteries I purchased at Big Lots -
obviously past their peak charge (no bargain)..

Hardly fear mongering. It is a critical comment on how bureaucratic,
inefficient and insulting the Federal government is. Congress should be
totally absolutely embarrassed and ashamed of themselves for creating a
work product that absolutely no one can understand.
There is absolutely no reason why the health bill can't be a 20 page
document with tables that clearly define the scope. Anything more is an
insult to us. No one would accept a 650 page mortgage or a 550 page car
rental agreement.

You are absolutely correct. But then, how are our lords and masters
(piece of shit congress) going to satisfy their lords and masters
(lobbyists) without having at least 2-3 pages a piece for each
lobbyist's concern? Congress isn't "giving us" anything. They are
writing legislation for the corporate overlords - it can be as long
and obfuscated as needed.

Yes, but that doesn't contradict my point that only the health care
bill
defines what's in the health care bill. To point to an article in The
Lancet
and say that's what the health care bill will bring us is illogical.

Congress, for the most part, is made of lawyers. They love to hear
themselves
talk. I believe they think that 2000 pages will bring them something
that will
withstand legal challenge.

Have you read this, or for that matter, any bill?
Every bill has the same format, with wide margins and 24 numbered
lines per page of perhaps 5 words per line.
It's not hard to read. Really. Not quite a picture book, but not
complex. Much easier to read than a mortgage agreement.
As far as length, George W Bush's last budget bill ran far longer.
Were you complaining about that?
You guys take some one else's opinion instead of actually looking at
the product. Try thinking for yourself instead of taking someone else's
opinion. Unlike any of George W Bush's legislation, you can actually
find drafts of this online. Easily.

Nope, its much more about a very large number of lawyers with
silly ideas about what should be in the legislation policy wise.

And not only exempt , but also exempt from the "cadillac plan" tax.

Bush fell for absolutely everything he wanted to believe.
You have provided absolutely no proof that man made CO2 contributes
to global warming, and you can't.

Did you miss the summation:
"It is not the responsibility of 'climate realist' scientists to prove
that dangerous human-caused climate change is not happening."
Even they don't deny that climate change is being driven my human
driven CO2, they just say we should do nothing about it.
What this all boils down to is large corporations not wanting to make
an investment. Don't hurt the Republican base.
The same type arguments were pushed against tobacco, Freon, seat
belts and many more things we now accept as being life and earth savers.

Do you really think that colder in one place does not mean that the
average temperature of the earth is not rising? Miami, today, set a
record high.
There is nothing incompatible with unusual weather and global
warming. Indeed global warming predicts unusual weather, be it unusual
highs or unusual lows. The steering currents of the jet stream are
altered by the increased warming of the poles.
El Nino, PDO and other natural earth processes will always affect the
climate, but the inexorable truth is that CO2 is driving the underlaying
long term rise in earth temps. No scientist, even those in the pocket of
those who wish to do nothing, deny that. Not even the chief do nothinger
Dr Roy Spencer.
It's hard not to look back on 8 years of George W Bush kicking the
can down the road and say, "None of this is the fault of Conservative
Republicans". But you do. Insanity is believing that doing more of what
failed will have a different result. But that appears to be what you
believe. Less regulation and let Big Corporations decide what is right.
Even many Fortune 500 Companies believe that now is the time to
tackle CO2. The whole house of cards you believe in is crumbling.
Now, you'll counter with the next headline that you believe because
it fits what you want.

Rush alone blows out enough CO2 each day to be an environmental concern.

Bought two bags of these (ten bucks!) at Joann Fabrics on impulse.
TREMENDOUS aroma in the foyer of the store. Scent lasted two days in-
home! Anyone have a recipe for refurbishing cinnamon pine cones?

I google most of my news too, but I live in the unfashionable backwaters
of the central pacific, and a lot of my local news never gets picked up
by any media outside my county. My local paper has had an "e-Edition"
of PDF pages available for a while now, but I only recently stopped by
and learned it was only half the price of getting it dead-tree, which
kind of sealed the deal. :)

There's techniques and also a device you can wear to ease movement.
Google around. I've seen petite nursing aids move large people.
In reality, modern wheel chairs have fold down sides, you slide the
individual onto the chair and wheel them off. If you need to care for
someone who can not move, a modern chair is essential.

Needs pictures, but it sounds pretty much like it, yes. Straps more
or less just extend that type of carrying position.

Been ages since I shopped for cookware, but names like "All-Clad" and
"Master Chef" and "Wear-Ever" come to mind as sturdy things with handles
that don't fall off (which is important to me, just in case the zombies
come...)

Or you cook heavy things in very large pots. Standing in the middle of the
kitchen holding a handle in both hands while the pot hits the floor and
splashes boiling tomato sauce all over the floor, cabinets, and your legs is
not my idea of a great start to the evening. Been there, done that, which is
why I love my old Revere Ware stuff. I'd put it up against zombies, too!

The ice from our refrigerator always tasted less than great. So I
bought a Culligan IC-100 for about $13 and installed it this past
weekend.
It took about 30 minutes to finish. I took pictures of the process and
wrote up a quick guide.
Here's the page - http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/Culligan-IC-100-Icemaker-Water-Filter-Installation-Guide
I'm really glad that I did this since now the ice tastes great and
looks crystal clear. It was a pain having to buy ice at the grocery
store before every get together. Plus I save some money and gas this
way.
Cheers,
Paul Michaels
