Did you read that in the article? (I'm lazy to read now)
Now imagine a truck does the same with cars blocking the fast lane,
and they do it all the time.

Whilst not condoning his actions in any way (was a very stupid thing
to do), I can see stupidity on both sides of the argument with CM
activists displaying this in spades. Own your space in your lane, but
don't presume to own the whole road as this just pisses people off -
well CM as an act is designed to piss people off.
I can see more of this happening when CM's are held in future TBH - it
was like skittles and he wasn't exactly driving a huge Chelsea Tractor
either.

On the highway trucks go 55-70 MPH. Whilst most traffic goes around
65-80 MPH. The difference in speed is far greater with bicycle and a
car, or even a bike and truck.

Thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions.
I'll call them to ask about using Magic Jack along side it, but other
than that it sounds good. The reason I may go with the Amazon
Marketplace seller is that it seems like such a great deal:
$79 credit towards service (4+ months free) and all the equipment I
need (except phone) for $45. Then just $21/month (including taxes and
fees) for the remaining year... If the quality and service is decent
and reliable then it seems like the answer to my desire to DUMP ATT's
exorbitant service for a land line.
By the way Magic Jack also works for this for a lot cheaper ($40/year)
BUT I don't like the quality of the voice with MJ. Hopefully Phone
Power is better in that respect. Otherwise, I have found MJ to be very
reliable and usable, but for long conversations it's a bit annoying in
terms of lousy sound quality. This COULD be the phone I have hooked up
to it! But I don't think so; it sounds like the service...

I have to laugh. No one is universally stupid on everything, not even the
terminally retarded. I have even known Tom Sherman, a civil engineer, to say
a few sensible things from time to time. Hells Bells, even TM is not
totally stupid. But what does any of that have to do with intelligence?
Unlike you, I can recognize a genuine idiot when I see one. How? You judge
others by their overall manner, not a few snippets of knowledge. RS NOT
stupid? What a laugh!

Saying it twice doesn't make it any more sensible. Caves are notorious for
being damp and inhospitable places for all except Aborigines.

Wow! Two whole sentences made up of parts. Not bad for an Aborigine. At
least now he knows that a "nope" must have a follow-up.

It's been a tough fight as any fight between Minnesotans and
Australians promised to be. The overwhelming encyclopedic knowledge of
a librarian vs. the man from the outback.
I'm inclining more and more to Ed's arguments as he delivers punches,
some of them below the belt, against the man who has absolutely
nothing to say. But you be the referee!

You're talking about the petty battle between someone who does not mind
making Minnesotans look bad and someone who does not mind making Aussies
look bad?
The Aussie here gained a FAQ and in ~1995 had an "alt" Usenet newsgroup
existing, named after him.
I would favor the particular Minnesotan here over the infamous Aussie
here, between those two lowly folks. To me, the infamous Aussie is a
particularly bad sub-troll that likes to irritate everyone, especially
those who work for a living.
As for frugal living: I own a car, but I don't use it to commute to my
day job. Instead, I mostly use my bike (not much slower) and after that,
a major done-well public transit line.

Anyone who freely chooses to live in a northern clime is some kind of idiot
for sure. Minnesota is a place to get out of, never a place to get to. TM at
least has brains enough to live in a southern clime (Florida).

Hey, life's a beach! Just came from it, kicking sand for a change. You
better not be caught in traffic though!
You sacrifice civilization as you come to the tropics, but you can lie
under a mango tree. Beware of Australia though as the outback is only
good for aborigines.
