Page Plus is about as cheap as you are going to get for a cell.

Do you have a decent internet connection? Consider getting
a VoIP phone service. Magic Jack is pretty cheap at $20.00
per year. Vonage is not as cheap as they would like you to think.
Phone Power is half the price of Vonage and has better service
and features. I've been with Phone Power for almost a year and
have no complaints.

T-Mobile has a $40 plan that include 500 minutes a month. If you can
get your wife to call on weekends, the minutes are free.

Also consider what her sister is using for a phone. I added my Mom to
my plan for an additional $10/mo and we can talk anytime, as mobile to
mobile calls within the family are always free.

For some time I've been searching for a new HD radio to put in our
car. My wife drives nearly an hour commuting every day, and has said
she would like HD radio in the car, in order to have a better selection
of music. I told her to just keep using the 8 track player for now.
<joking>

I can see where she is coming from. I had actually installed an HD
radio in our previous car. What I liked about it was the large number
of preset buttons on the face. What I didn't like was that the display
regularly did not show artist and other info, and at times the radio
would keep switching back and forth between HD and standard, making it
annoying to listen to. Evidently my wife misses some of the HD stations
she used to be able to listen to.

I am looking for a model with ease of use. The fewer hidden "menus",
the better.

Front USB would be good as well - then she could listen to podcasts
during her drive.

Do any "chains" or other places offer an installed price? (or a
"everything included" price for radio installation)

Thanks!

I've been trying to get the girlfriends car ready for the emission
check and would like to look at the engine live data. There appear to be
a number of PC interfaces for the ODB connection. Here is one:

http://www.autotap.com/product.asp

Has anyone used any of these and any recommendation. On the frugal end
of the price scale would be preferable.

Hi,
I've been using it long time. I use free shareware and laptop thru USB
hook up. I assembled interface in a small metal enclosure using a kit.
All my family car is Japanese so the coneector is ISO spec. Domestic
ones may have different connector.

Hi,
They are very useful. Try free shareare first. And domestic cars may have

I haven't used them so don't have a recommendation on which would fit
your needs.
I don't know how your state checks emissions, but here in Illinois
they don't even put a sensor in the exhaust anymore for the later
ODBII cars. '96 and later I think. Just use their ODBII scanner.
The key to a scanner here is that it can clear codes.
You don't want to go to emissions testing with a stored intermittent
code.
Just did the test here last month and had my son check it with his
scanner a couple days before I went.
He cleared an intermittent EGR code.
That would have flunked me I think.
We have an older ODBII reader that would only read the code, but he's
got one that can clear them.
It's a "pricey" Snap-On, but he's a mech.
I'd talk to some pro mechs before I'd put any heavy money into
scanning equipment.
There's a lot of stuff on the "net" too.
There are also real "gotchas" with some older model ODBII cars
regarding the interfaces.
But I think the newer cars are pretty consistent.

Hey comrade, some revolutionary pep talk doesn't hurt when the
revolutions for the planet are happening. I was awaken with fresh news
that the guy is going down. The bourgeoisie is worried about their
SUVs, but we must celebrate.

I'm doing my revolutionary bike today. Call me when there's a
revolution.

Yeah, but the UK has been getting fat (second after Americans) and the

Oh comrade, you'd be begging for this revolution when the time comes
because this is about MODERATION & TRANSPORTATION (notice they rhyme).
We don't know if the other revolutions are going to turn right or
wrong, but we have a clear idea about the solutions. Don't forget the
monkey with the beach cruiser is taking part in it (life's beach),
enlightening the world with reality. Remember, NO MORE BULLSHIT. And
if you hate public transportation, you can ride a bike like I do.

Sometimes I hate public transportation the way it is --noisy and
unreliable-- but together with the bike is OK. We must be ready for
the high gas prices and welcome the next step in evolution. Come what
may.

I've suddenly realized that people wasting gas are pro Gadhafi and pro
terrorists everywhere. One of his top diplomats that defected
confirmed he blew up the airplane over Scotland as if we needed more
evidence.

You still have time to change your mind and ride a bike or public
transportation though.

The lower the debt to available credit ratio the better. So having
higher unsecured credit limits is a positive.

Ironically, having a higher secured credit limit is a negative, i.e. if
you try to refinance your mortgage loan and have a HELOC with a high
limit, it doesn't matter that you have not used the HELOC, they treat it
as if you are paying the monthly payment on the entire credit limit.

Have you thought of putting all that wind to work?

I do not take pains with asshole-shitheads like RS. The dumber I am, the
more I get on their level.

You take the high road with low brows at your peril. Scum must always be
treated like scum. I would kill them if I could. Your mistake, like that of
all liberals, is that you think scum can be saved from themselves. They
can't. It is why you cut Ed Gin so much slack. Poor Jim McNamara did not
know how to deal with him either. I can spot asshole-shitheads like RS and
Ed Gin from a mile away. Too bad you can't.

Sure, we are "free" in the West. We can talk all we want and nobody
cares since they --the voters-- are busy themselves trying to survive
in the Darwinist jungle. Make ends meet and go shopping are part of
the balancing act that makes you "happy." Never mind public
transportation is a disgrace and there's no place for bikes. They only
care about the bottom line: CHEAP OIL.

Well, the bubble is about to burst and things will definitely change.
I don't want empty slogans about democracy. I WANT FREEDOM FROM OIL. I
DON'T WANT TO SUPPORT TERRORISTS AND TYRANTS. Give me room on the road
for my bike and you can go on with your democratic mind game.

Remember, do not tease the monkey!
