(by Crystal Paine)
I've had so many thoughts swirling around in my head from the
responses to this question. There is so much I want to say, some of
which I have said earlier in other posts, but maybe it needs to be
reiterated.
I think we would all agree that there are definitely times when a
woman can teach. As we have recently talked on here, there is a huge
need for older women to teach the younger women. That is their
Biblical role. I also believe that women are called to teach their
children (I am not referring to homeschooling in particular here.) as
the Bible has called parents to train and raise children together. The
father is the head of the home, but the mother is definitely a co-
laborer with her husband in this regard. Children are to obey and
honor both father and mother.
We can spend all day trying to come up with examples of Biblical women
who were in "leadership" positions, but we need to look deeper to the
Biblical principles.
1 Tim 2:11-14 "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But
I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man,
but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam
was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the
transgression."
Adam was created first, then Eve. Eve was taken from Adam as a sign
that she was not an independent being. Eve was deceived and she
sinned, yet Adam was punished, too. Why? Because Adam was Eve's
authority and therefore responsible for her. If God had created Eve as
an independent being, wouldn't He have just punished her by herself?
This principle was laid down since the beginning of time and it holds
true today. Man was created to be the head of the woman. Woman was
created to be the helper to man. Man is under God, woman is under man.
So much of the time, we try to fit the Bible into our own mold of
thinking. We try to justify our beliefs by trying to come up with some
verse which might support our view. As I've said so many times,
though, we have to take the Bible as a whole. Either we believe it as
a whole, or we might as well not believe it at all.

Is that just another way of saying, Woman was created to give head to a man?

Conforming loans can be resold in the secondary market due to the fact
that they meet nationally accepted underwriting criteria established
by national secondary market investors, primarily Fannie Mae (FNMA)
and Freddie Mac (FHLMC). This criteria includes down payment amounts,
maximum loan amounts, property specifications, borrower income
requirements and credit guidelines. Due to the importance of being
able to liquidate real estate investments (loans) in the event of a
financial problem, the trend for lenders is to obtain loans that meet
secondary market standards.
The conforming loan limit in California for a single family home is
$240,000, for two family homes - $307,000, for three family homes -
$371,200, and for four family homes - $461,350. For five or more
residential dwellings, see COMMERCIAL LOANS.

The paint will have probably dried up in the can and the landlord will
likely repaint with recently purchased paint anyway upon the tenant
moving out. Really, this is no big deal. If the OP has doubts, just read
his lease or ask his landlord.

A young lady returned to her home from a prestigious, Eastern
college over the Thanksgiving- break during her first semester away
from home.
After Thanksgiving dinner her father asked his daughter how she
liked the school, and she replied, "Well, I like it O.K., and, by the
way, I have decided to become a Hillary Democrat. You see, Ms.
Clinton spoke to us on campus this semester, and showed me how unfair
the wage and health-care systems are is in the U.S. and how we must
raise taxes to help those in need."
The father was at first silent, then he asked her, "Well, how do
you like your studies?"
She answered that she worked four to five hours a day, had no
time for socializing and little time for anything else, but managed to
make a 4.00 her first semester.
Then, her father asked her how she liked her roommate. The
daughter replied, "She's terrible! She goofs off all the time, skips
class, parties until the wee hours, and barely made a C average. I
wish I could get rid of her."
Again the father was silent, and then said, "Well, why don't you
ask the Dean to take 1.00 of your grade-point average and give it to
your roommate, then you'd both have B averages?"
The daughter looked horrified, and said, "No, way! I worked hard
for my grades, and my roommate put-out forth no effort at all to study
or to make good grades. Why on earth should I give her part of my
hard-earned grades?"
The father looked at her, nodded his head, and said, "Welcome
back to the Republican Party."

I'm using "first three years" because that's typically how long they
sell warranties for.

As far as obsolete, obsolete would suggest it's useless. Compared to
computers of yore, computers these days don't become useless so
quickly. My desktop machine is probably 6 years old. It's no good for
the latest games or 3D apps, but it's more than fine for web surfing,
word processing, loading digital pictures onto, light duty image
editing, watching movies, burning DVDs / CDs, etc. Since that
constitutes most of my computer use, to me this computer isn't
obsolete.

My laptop is 10 years old and still fine for word processing and web
surfing, so for those purposes it isn't obsolete.

Many people with laptops don't want or need the latest and greatest in
their mobile machine. They are typically looking for web surfing /
word processing / video watching. I doubt a new machine would become
useless for that.

So, even if you consider a machine to be "useless" after 2 years,
doesn't mean the owner will. If they had to use the warranty after
year two, that can save them the cost of a new computer, which even
for a cheap model, is more than the warranty.

Depending on what is considered "less than pristine condition". If it
was obviously abused they won't cover it. I know someone who dropped
his laptop, screwed up the hard drive, and had the drive replaced
under warranty. While the computer didn't appear abused, it certainly
appeared used.

If the coverage is as terrible as you state, yes it's a ripoff.
However I've seen extended warranties that will actually protect the
user. Shop around.

Yes you do. You can upgrade, you can not upgrade, you can run an
alternative operating system. My laptop runs Windows 98, which "Mr.
Bill no longer supports" however it is still useful as a word
processing and web surfing machine.

Generally a certain number of existing hardware drivers are included
with new operating systems. Except apple. "What you don't have a
Firewire port? Sorry, no new MacOS for you."

If you have application "X" that runs on operating system "Y", that
version of "X" will continue to work on that version of "Y" regardless
of what new versions come out.

I can't run Office 2007 on my apple II Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

My 6 year old computer can run pretty much any new application that
isn't 3-D intensive. The operating system (XP) will continue to be
supported for a few years. This is pretty good mileage out of my
hardware. Vista is the first Microsoft operating system upgrade in
years. Compare to Apple which seems to release one a year, charges
ridiculous amounts to upgrade, and has more hardware obsoleteness.

As others have said, it depends on the laws in your locality. But
having owned property in a high density area (Seattle, WA, university
district) where street parking is at a premium, I can tell you that
altering the parking footprint without permission from the city is
illegal. Only the city can do that, or approve that. From what you
say, it doesn't sound like he's changed the parking footprint, but
just added slopes on either side of the actual driveway. He might
think he's created a buffer around his driveway, but he is mistaken.

>I looked up parking restrictions on our

Yes. You only need to respect the actual driveway. The added slopes
are not part of it.

Its none of your business.
Find something constructive to do with your time.
Seems like the US is turning into nothing but thugs and snitches.
