Doesnt matter what their ultimate goal is, it aint gunna happen.

Nope, because that aint gunna happen.

You have always been, and always will be, completely and utterly irrelevant.

What you claim to have always thought in spades.

You just lost that bet. How much was it for ?

Another pig ignorant lie. They are getting money DIRECTLY from the merchants.

Not that it matters a damn whether its directy or indirectly anyway.

Still makes the credit card company money the bulk of the time.

And those don't last long.

They are just subsidizing them more than those who subsidized them least.

While ever some continue to do that sort of thing.

Each month they urge me to use my BofA card, but there never seem to be any
bribes involved. Maybe it's a local thing.

I cancelled all of my credit cards two years ago,,, and checking
account too. I use cash
and money orders and keep a safeway cash card for use on line.

I get no bills in the mail that way, and am not temped to use the
cards and run up
balances ... I also dont expose myself to the wide range of banking
tricks and hose jobs. I have
zero exposure to all of that... it feels a lot better than I thought
ti would.

Most pumps on these bottles are of poor quality as there's only 1 valve, so
some travel and speed on the return is needed to draw up the soap. Small
presses don't allow the ball to seat.
I'd love to get some 2-valve pumps that would fit bottles but I've never
seen any.

CallingMart is usually the least expensive place to buy refills for
prepaid cell phones. They are having one of their periodic sales at this
time with 10% off T-Mobile an AT&T, and 7% off Tracfone, Verizon, &
PagePlus until 10/23/

Cut and paste the appropriate coupon code into the coupon code box at

I've also posted these codes on the prepaid web site,

They have an ongoing discount code of 3% over their already discounted
prices "ca3p-1207" but the temporary codes are a better deal.

Thank you, Steven! Got $80 card for $74.40 with code on Pageplus. Might
as well charge the battery while the charger's on cheaper!

This takes some getting used to after having been had so many years on
postpaid! This $75 will last me into next year!

TOPIC: Kroger - strategy for getting marked down meat

==============================================================================

From: "OhioGuy"

Once in a blue moon, I happen to find some GREAT deals on marked down
meats at our local Kroger grocery store. So far, I haven't noticed a
pattern to when I find them.

Kroger has long had a marked down meat section, where they put meat that
is within the last couple of days that it should be sold. Usually there is
no discoloration, spoilage or other problems - it is just a matter of the
date on the calendar getting close to the date printed on the package. I
just buy the package and freeze it until needed.

A year or so ago, they made the markdown meat section only half the
previous size, and it seems to be more difficult to find good deals there
now. Previously, I would often see even reasonably priced cuts marked down
to only 50% of the original price. Now, it seems that this is fairly rare,
and the typical discount is only about 30% off. Most of the time I go by
and see that there are only the more expensive cuts left. 30% off something
that was originally $8 a pound isn't so much of a deal, in my book.

So, I was wondering if there might be any of you out there with an insight
into when might be the best time to check for marked down meat at the
market. Thanks!

I've asked the butcher early saturday morning and will make deals to buy
cuts of beef, lamb and pork for 50% less per weight if I take a certain
quantity. Sometimes he'll cut a deal and sometimes not. Not so with
chicken because they use the chicken in their restaurant on site or maybe
somebody has a deal to buy the store's chicken.

I also notice monday nights around here they seem to have more marked down
meats because the new shipment of meat came in on Monday morning.

Also I grind my own meats like hamburger and sausage meat. Major savings
there. I rarely buy store ground meats unless I forgot to thaw something.
You can get the marked down meats, grind them up, freeze them in your
desired protion size (500 g or l lb seem to be standard).

And when you all get as poor as I, meat will go by the wayside and you'll be
looking
at a small bag of dried beans, to see how many servings you can get out of
the bag, and
protein per serving. Meat will only be a dream of long ago.

There is an upside, eliminates a lot of hassle. Not much storage space
needed, no freezer needed,
no messing with blood and guts, etc.

Anyone remember the story about some country at war , the country was
devastated., only the
rich had access to the rich foods, while the pheasants had to survive on
grains. Guess which class
come out the better for it: The rich suffered gout and other diet related
diseases,
and the poor were lean and healthy.

Living without a lot of meat prolongs life. especially these days with
the grain fed beef
thats not at all good for ones health. the rest of the world uses
small bits of meat
in rice, beans, and vegitable dishes.

btw if you switch to brown rice its a lot better
for your health. and I like it a lot better than white rice. brown
has the hulls attached,
for fiber and a lot more nutrition. diabetes all but dissapeared in
england during ww2 when
white rice was rationed but brown rice wasnt

Corn tortillas are cheap. Add them to complete the bean protein.

I haven't cooked meat for decades. Well, I haven't cooked much else either,
but meat requires far more trouble than I'm willing to go to. I did buy some
boneless skinless chicken breasts on sale a couple of years ago -- they're easy
to cook.

Which perhaps explains why the rich used them for targets after the deer were
all gone :-)

OK, then let me be more precise: A vehicle manufactured after about 1988
(not certain of exact year) for the non-US market may not be imported into
the US for the purpose of US registration without a complete and
functioning SRS system.

This is technically correct. The last I read, permission must be obtained
in writing from the NHTSA.

Permission is predicated upon the presence of some definite and specific
factor that would, in the opinion of the NHTSA's bureacrats, place the
applicant in some special danger from airbags that ordinary people would
not face. These factors would include advanced age, unusually small adult
body size, or some sort of physical infirmity, such as advanced
osteoporosis.

I imagine the number of officially-permitted SRS disablements must be
vanishingly tiny.

Another fine consequence of the CARD Act and its zeal to protect
irresponsible card users from the consequences of their actions.

Used to be the reason for monitoring my cc account was for fraud. Now it's
just as much to assure myself that I still *have* an account. Thankfully,
there are relatively few situations where I have to use a credit card but
still, thanks for nothing, Obama. Me and my credit card issuer were getting
alone fine for 20 years without your help (yes, banks are greedy. Big deal,
so am I.) Now I'll be lucky if I'm not paying an annual fee next year to
subsidize the deadbeats.

Good luck with that. I've got a lot of credit cards that I signed up for
because they offered some sort of discount/free money, and when I cancel each
of them I'll be happy to tell them exactly why -- the same reason I canceled
AT&T when they started charging $3 minimum/month for LD.

I can't remember the last time I used my BofA Visa. Maybe never, they don't
give points.

Unlikely.

That isnt what is happening. ALL that is happening is that the
freebie that some have offered for a while has stopped with them.

How so? This is old news. Banks have been charging an annual fee for
certain credit cards for years. For example, I have a USAirways frequent
flyer card that charges $90 per year, but I get my money's worth out of
it. I went to Europe last summer for a fraction of what I would have
otherwise had to pay.

You have no clue what you are talking about. This tactic has been going
on for years, long before Obama became president.

Ok, so I use BoA, and they pay me about $750 cash in rewards every
year. I pay off my balance in full every month. If they decide that I
have to pay $29-$99 a year to get the $750, so be it. For the first 20
years I had credit cards, nearly EVERY card issuer charge an annual
fee, whether you paid the balance in full each month or not. So what?

Seriously, why should I be able to use their card for free AND get
$750 a year? Sure, they're getting money from the merchants (I am one,
so I know), but still, even if they impose a $100 fee I'll be netting
$650 of free money. Again, works for me.

Umm, sure they do, A minimum of 1%, and on most of my transactions 5%.
I get about $750 back each year. What are you on about?

You do realize that "deadbeats" is the term used by the credit card
issuers for those of us who pay the balance in full every month and
thereby never incur an interest fee, right?

I would guess that something called bubble bath would cost more than something
called dishwashing liquid.

Fairy liquid?

The sugar is used as an abrasive?

I bought a gallon of Permatex Fast Orange hand-cleaner with pumice for a buck
at a yard sale a couple of years ago.

From some of the gents' crappers I've seen, most hands would be cleaner before
using the sink than after unless there's some magical way of dispensing green
soap and turning on a faucet without actually touching it.

Does HRM still put that wax-paper-like toilet paper in the public loos? You
know, the stuff with 'Property of the Queen' printed in red on each sheet.

Thereby opening you up to the accusation of hanging around men's rooms and
ogling the users. Probably not a good idea.
