Oh, I just realized... Celebration is considered "New Urbanism" which
I propose in my Master Plan for any Banana Republica out there. Yes,
my plan is to have these ideas implemented in some dilapidated country
(say Cuba) and make it go according to some sense of proportion and
quality of life, not the ideas imported from the West and North based
on the car and the Gated Community... Comprende?

Thank you, that's important clue to shared roads. What I'd do
though in the REAL WORLD is to implement 25mph on the right lane only,
then up to 35 on the other lanes.

Actually everybody may come out better.

Been to London lately? Every commuter race I have ever seen in London
has been won by the bike.

I know it doesn't pertain to you, and your philosophy, but most of us
have jobs that we need to get to and from. Artificially lowering the
speed limits (even more than they already are) would hurt productivity
and/or just increase the number of hours the gainfully employed would
have to stay at work.

Can't say I have, I haven't been to Britain in about 10 years. I'm an
American that lives in a semi-rural area. There are no sidewalks, and
there are no bike lanes on my commute to work. What there is though is a
two lane road with a speed limit of 45 MPH, and a prevailing speed of
around 50 MPH. There are is one stop light along the 5 mile route I
take, but it's at the end/begining. It would near suicide to try to bike
that during rush hour and dicey at best at other times. I'll keep
driving my 450+ HP supercharged Mustang and leave the cycling for the
back roads on the weekend, which is much more pleasant and safe IMHO.

There you go: Work, Work and no pleasure! You must see this movie with
Julia Roberts where the Italians laugh at the Americans.

Their secret to happiness? They ride scooters!

When cars can keep a steady enough pace that a bike rider behind one
doesn't have to stand on the pedals and ride the brakes
simultaneously, then we can talk.

Who said anything about no pleasure? I have adequate time to pursue my
interests and still have a job. Financing my hobbies takes money though,
so having a steady income is part of the deal. Or should I expect others
to pay for my wants/needs instead?

By riding a bike to work and/or shopping you can both have fun and
save money.

consider driving fun.

Not if you are Hindu, or in a Hindu area!!!!!

As for WHY God is not a Christian - according to the Christian faith,
god is the father of Christ and is above Christ or equal to Christ- or
Christ is God - either way, no way GOD needs to be obedient to,
subservient to, or more accurately, redeemed by Christ.
So most definitely, GOD is not a Christian.

Whether it was my prayers or the actual need for cash by the city, my
prayers have been answered. See, l lived in the corner of a major
thoroughfare where I witnessed three motorcycle accidents that made me
sell my scooter.

So now that I don't have the scooter, and I'm waiting for better times
for the bicycles, I must be careful when I drive. I have made it a
practice to stop before time, but I'm still nervous of other drivers
forcing me to run the light, like when they keep going and I am in the
middle of the intersection.

If I get a ticket despite my utmost care then I'll take back my
prayers and try to ride a bus or a bicycle --traffic allowing. You
must always have a Plan B in the jungle.

NOTE: I remember the times when running the light was a bloody sport
and I'm still for the cameras.

As I said earlier. TPs are still more of a niche with attached ved and
insurance premiums. It's gradually changing and hopefully more will be

Preferably one with a smallish turbo for a really good kick up the
rump at 60-70mph in top gear. 225bhp 2.0 TFSi Audi, 112.5bhp/L. Fiat
Punto 1.4 Evo Abarth Multiair turbo 170bhp, 121bhp/L, 47mpg. 335i -
306bhp, 101.4 bhp/L, near flatline torque from nothing to 5500rpm,
then it drops off as turbos are too small.

Then try a premium diesel turbo, SAAB 1.9 TTiD or TT Multijet (Lancia
Delta). Another good kick up the rump in top at M-way speeds.

Then try the worlds best production SI turbo with variable phase,
duration and lift valve timing. Nissan 2002 X-Trail GT - SR20VET 2.0L
280bhp Japan only (import), 140bhp/L, flatline torque from 3200rpm all
the way to max power at 6800rpm.

Don't hold your breath but variable compression SI turbo may yet
appear. Nissan are supposed to be production ready, just needs
something FR 2+2 and smaller than a 370Z to sit in, 1.6L 225bhp
140bhp/L and it will flat line the torque curve.

Problem is they all come at an increasingly premium price.

V8's even ones that technically are no better than L1.3 Ford Kent,
just 4x bigger so 4x more power, are even more pricey both to buy and
keep in fuel.

TOPIC: why would 1 room in our house always be hottor or colder than rest?

We moved into a 1979 house back in March. Since then, I've noticed
that our daughter's room always seems to be hotter than the rest in the
summer, and cooler than the rest in Fall/Winter.

Anyone have any suggestions for what might cause this? I thought it
might be an issue with the ducts, until I realized this was also the
case when we didn't even have the AC or furnace on.

The strange thing is, this room seems to have more extreme temps than
our son's bedroom - which is on the corner, and thus has about 70% more
exterior wall. It kind of defies logic, at least at first glance.

The ducts feeding that room are not feeding enough air to it. Check for duct
controls that are not open, or partially close vents in the warmer (winter)
rooms. You could check the ducts for that room for obstructions (toys).
