After thinking about it, I signed on to receive a free Thanksgiving dinner, complete with turkey.

Turkey arrived yesterday, I thawed it immediately, which you're not supposed to do, just put in refrigerator, and went so far as to run cold water on it. Couldn't figure out how to remove the neck, which somehow was doubled-back into the cavity.

Removed turkey after 4 hours at 325 degrees, and found it dried up;; should have gone for 3 hours or 275 degrees, I suppose.

Anyway, I carved it up into manageable parts I wrapped in foil and put in refrigerator. Mixed all the giblets into a gravy using gravy pouch that came with the turkey, and put into gravy remaining small bits I scraped from the carcass: not bad. Neck and wings, though, were too dry to use, so refrained from chopping up carcass to make a soup or something.

Still have a frozen pumpkin pie and Cool Whip for Thanksgiving Day.

Rather than sell it all in one lump sum, aren't they better selling it in increments for the purposes of taxes?
