Yes they are, because most stuff that comes into Ohio comes in them.

Park on the highway or the railway for a while and you will see them all coming in.

You will also see more semis carrying cargo. But do provide a link as to where
Ohioguy can actually purchase one in Ohio, you seem to be having trouble doing

There is already a link for OC Container in this thread, which I believe
OG is close to Columbus.

For all Rods faults, there is no reason why some guy from OZ has to do
some guy from Ohio's homework. Is that not a bit too petty?

Certainly Ohioguy seems to not be able to google anything himself, but in fact
speed offered nothing but opinion and conjecture, as usual and I was just
rubbing it in.

I know, I know. That's why I don't care to go there even if it was
true. Heaven --I assume-- is full of FAMILY VALUES as well...

(some highlights of it... notes of mine in [...])

While family values remains a rather vague concept, social
conservatives usually understand the term to include some combination
of the following principles (also referenced in the 2004 Republican
Party platform):

[they carry elections with this "vague concept," winning over
practical issues such as transportation]

1- Promotion of "traditional marriage" and opposition to sex outside
of conventional marriage, including pre-marital sex, adultery,
polygamy, bestiality, and incest. [the last one very common in the
Bible]

2- Support for a roll back of aspects of feminism and support for a
traditional role for women in the family. [Taliban style, huh?]

3- Opposition to same-sex marriage. [no comment... I'm opposed to the
institution of marriage]

4- Support for traditional education and parental involvement in that
education, including such things as vouchers for private, non-secular
education. [teaching "intelligent design," right?]

5- Opposition to legalization of abortion and support for policies
that instead encourage abstinence and adoption. [they haven't heard of
overpopulation, right?]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_values

So it's this kind of bullshit that dominates the political discourse
in this world, and we can expect to go on in the heavens. This
ignorance of the physical world as well as the biological aspect of
the human being, proposing impractical solutions such as abstinence
makes them dumb. Proving that they are evil takes another example:

When Bush denied UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE TO CHILDREN, they stood back and
did nothing.

"The bipartisan children's health insurance bill that passed the House
and Senate by strong majorities provides health insurance for 10
million children. The House will vote tomorrow to try to override
President Bush's veto, which denies critical health care coverage to
children of hard-working families struggling with the high cost of
insurance."

Not only that, God has some powers that only a Peeping Tom can dream
about. He can watch if your sexual positions are unnecessarily
recreational. I think that's where most Christians fail to go to
Heaven.

Imagine, missionary position all the time!

True, his faith should be a private matter when he chooses to say: NO
COMMENT.

But I was also referring to a broader aspect of "drawbacks of
democracy," ie. people don't want to hear the truth, and rather go
"light" on substance. Case in point:

PRESIDENT: "Do you all want the war in Iraq?"

CROWD: "Yes, yes, we want war!"

PRESIDENT: "But it'll take sending your sons and paying for it."

CROWD: They quietly leave the President alone.

That speech never came, and the was the problem. THE COSTS OF THE WAR
WERE HIDDEN FROM THE VOTERS.

What did they do instead? Right, borrow. But the voters still don't
want to hear about it and now want to crucify Obama over waste!

The Christians are funny people, I'm telling you..

The rental house is on the downside of a hill and the cellphone
coverage is poor. Up the driveway it is fine.

Any experience with any of the cell phone boosters?

I see some are tethered to the phone, in which case an antenna would
be just as well. Some rebroadcast both ways. I'd like to spend less than
$200, but you know how that goes!

I'm halfway thinking of a Pringles can (or some such waveguide
antenna) facing the tower, but elevated, connected to a half (or quarter
if there is a ground plane) wave dipole. Seems like the can would have a
ton of gain. Crazy?

They arent legal in my country.

Yes, those are used a lot in RVs.

You do need a cellphone that can have an antenna attached, most modern ones cant anymore.

Nope, it can work, but its not as easy to do as you might think.

Get yourself an old "bag phone". They have about 20 times more signal
strength. Keep the antenna away from your body.

And talk to what with it? All the old bag phones I have seen are analog,
which is basically gone at this point.

OP needs a cell repeater or femtocell device. He'll cry at the price,
though, even online. Google 'residential cell phone booster', figure out
correct model. and then try to find a cheaper one on ebay.

Or just get rid of the cell phone and get a real phone. After a month
you won't even miss it.

Talk to your cellular service provider. When I complained to Sprint about poor
signal strength in my home, they shipped me -- free of charge -- a microcell
that sends the signal via internet. Signal in my living room went from one bar
to five bars. It's been installed about two years now, and we haven't had any
trouble with it at all.

Or change providers. They share towers,
but there are other towers, other locations.

You were lucky. Still, I'm glad I forked out the $150 for
an AT&T Microcell that fixed my problem with almost 0 bars
at home. I didn't have much of a choice since Verizon and
Sprint coverage are no better at this location.

I bought the thing the day it was released for public
sale and the initial performance was a bit ragged.
However, it improved dramatically over the next few
months. I assume that was due to firmware updates.

Repeaters and the like are a lot more expensive ($200-500+
with antennas and all) and the results are very hit and
miss according to the reports I studied.

I have no knowledge of chip can antennas.

I have use antennaes and two of the WILSON boosters and one of the wy-
ex zboost sytems.

All of them worked. for both ATT and VERIZON 800/1900.
Remember that 4 g is coming - if that matters to you.

The antennae i used required a phone that accept an antenae.
As noted there are few of them any more.
However,
I've seen ads for inductive coupled antenaes.
I have NOT tried those.

check with Wilson for solutions. they are very helpful.

also check with Howard Forums on the net.

Remember you can only boost signal if you HAVE signal.
zero times any boost is still zero.
You may be able to run the cable up the hill to where there is signal
for the external antenae. The LMR 400 cable is expensive, but much
better than "regular" coax.

one final note,
be sure that you
Follow the instructions to make sure that the booster cannot "see" the
external antenae.
We ended up using a refridgerator to separate them. it made a huge
difference.

A better question is, Why deal with those SOBs at all? They see no
problem with forcing homeowners in foreclosure even when they haven't
complied with paperwork requirements. They, along with the rest of the
big bankers, with their outrageous charges, are despicable, greedy
bastards. Deal locally.

I've used them (they're the closest bank) since they bought Security
Pacific (same building) sometime in the 70s, maybe 80s. Checking only.
No problems. I once needed a significant amount of cash in a hurry,
and they cashed the Washington Mutual check for me -- WaMu didn't have
enough cash on hand. I closed my WaMu accounts at the next opportunity,
and the assholes didn't even bother to ask why the angry lady was
closing her accounts.

Only problem is their ATMs. it used to be easy: put a mess of checks
in an envelope, log in, tell the machine the total you were depositing,
insert the envelope, take your receipt and card and walk away. Now you
have to feed in each check by hand, checking OK after every operation.
Sometimes it can't read the amount on a check and asks you to feed it in
by hand. If you don't remember which one that was the whole transaction
is canceled and you have to start over. It takes at least 10x time to
make a deposit even with only a few checks. God forbid I had to deposit
10 or 20 like I used to. And going inside is just as bad -- they have
to check everything and add it up.

No idea if other banks' ATMs suck as badly, that's the only one I use.

To BofA's credit they're never actually lost any of my money.

Why do you think that ANY bank will be less likely to screw you than any
other bank?

There is a distinction between a "plan" and "insurance." With my plan, I
pay $85 per year (for a single, senior person) and get a discounted rate
from participating dentists, which I pay in full. There is no
third-party (insurance company) involved.

I use this company:
http://dentalsave.com/

(Use IE as your browser, otherwise you many not be able to see the rates
choices in the right column after clicking on "View fee schedule".)

Here are the Florida rates for non-specialists. Specialists give 20% off.
http://dentalsave.com/pdfs/SouthEast_GeneralDentistFeeSchedule.pdf

All my dentist have adhered to the published prices. I see this as
price-fixing, both for the discounted and non-discounted prices shown.
But my New Jersey consumer affairs returned my complaint and said it had
to be sent to New York, where headquarters are. I have not done so.

What kind of deranged pervert believes this nonsense? Christianity (and
the other organized "religions") are mental illnesses, all trying to
control you by holding out the HOPE that there is eternal life for those
who follow their rules (no matter how arbitrary and contradictory they are).

I guess that's my marketing strategy. Why make people worry about the
Environment when they don't give a damn? If the alpha leaders drive
SUVs, the rest of the troop follows...

How about this other strategy: "Hey, liberate yourself from the cage --
the car is a cage-- and have fun riding a bike."

That's what I do. I get a lot of looks with my fancy bikes --not
necessarily expensive-- and they are all convertible!

My motorcycle gloves are kangaroo.

What does turning goatskin gloves inside out actually do for you?

I'm curious.

Isn't that an act of discrimination? Monkeys are the most intelligent
species out there, only that they are dumb when they act like MONKEY
SEE MONKEY DO and organize to worship some "supreme being" they
haven't seen.

it. Their churches' parking lots are still full of cars.

Oh no, NONCHRISTIANS must admit that shit they put out stays in the
system and that this humble planet can't handle the heat from 7,000
million wasteful monkeys. Christians would probably disagree with the
last statement, though they seem to be #1.

True, but they are mostly irrelevant in politics. The monkey troop is

I'm pretty sure they know we are teasing the dumb monkeys to do moral
actions. Nothing against them.

Good, I usually spare my words against followers of Jesus that really
follow Jesus. I even admire Gandhi, even though he was not a
Christian.

Yes, sometimes the public imagination outside of the troop runs as
fast as the bad reputation:

"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians
are so unlike your Christ."

But I'm sure Gandhi was generalizing. ;)

I would love to have a couple of those. Fat chance of the City Fathers
allowing them, though, even if we could solve the problem of horsing
them down the driveway and then making a sharp right angle left :-( I
suspect you could even make decent room additions out of them.

Pallets: Beware of possible termites. I don't know how you'd recognize
them or get rid of them, but you probably don't want to bring them home.

Well, I'm in an unicorporated area and well concealed from passersby.

I bring home few pallets, nowadays, and those primarily as replacements for
what the termites eat, LOL! I'm in peninsular Florida: Termites are a given. In
late winter, they rise from the ground like smoke. Termites are ubiquitous. They
even eat my store-bought "mushroom" compost because it really is mostly wood.
They ate the paper bag from around alfalfa pellets, in a galvanized trashcan
that is on p/t wood blocks; really.

That's what cranes are for.

You're not kidding - the pallets around here are about 6' max, and
made of really thin wood. Considering that I saw loads of termites in
the soil about 10 feet away from where the shed is going, pallets would
probably be a very, very short term shed solution.

I should probably also add that whatever I end up doing needs to pass
inspection. There is a city inspector that drives past slowly about
once a month, peering into back yards here, and looking for an excuse to
have a nice "meeting" with anybody. That's what folks around here get
in exchange for voting to go from a township to a city. That, and a
1.5% income tax that didn't exist before.

I will definitely look into a shipping container as well - that would
seem to be rather sturdy and termite resistant. However, I'm not sure
if they are easy to come by here in Ohio.

Just contact Rod Speed, he's positive it won't be a problem so I'm assuming he
has a readily available list of suppliers

One party system, immortal leader, loyalty to the party, "permanent

all sound socialist. Well, at least they are not asking for Universal

I'd only have a problem accommodating the men's genitalia on those

Yes, yes, but Heaven sounds too Maoist as well. They sure will throw
POPULATION CONTROL in there. Though having the whole Universe to
expand maybe it won't be that much of a problem.

I've never heard of actually washing work gloves. If I were you I'd use
the cheap leather-palm ones and just throw them away when they wear out
-- and NEVER touch the outside with your fingers. My work gloves get
big holes in the fingers (repairable with duct tape, of course) long
before I'd consider washing them, but I'm not dealing with poison
oak/ivy, either.

I've got some nice goatskin gardening gloves, but they're too good to
use :-) I used to turn them inside out (like the rest of the dirtbags)
and use them for motorcycle gloves.
