Must be the psychologist has to consider the extent "projectivism" is involved, whether the child interacts with the neighboring family in ways that identify with them, and them him/her. Could be the visiting child is learning not to identify with own family, but preferring the new family. Sometimes we project onto others what we have experienced, like making a member of the family a "whipping boy," someone to impose upon. Supposedly, we all have subjective feelings that we deny, yet express in our relations with others.

In the case of the above child and its family, concerning what to share, it seems like the family should moderate their child's attachment to another child? Respect the other family identity.
