Umm, Majic Jack is a VOIP device, which requires some kind of internet
connection. DSL is just one type of internet connection (and the only
semi-reasonable option where I live). Ooma basic service costs only
what the local phone taxes cost, in this area about US$4.20/month. The
Obihai VOIP has no monthly or yearly charges, unless you want to
spring for 911 service, about US$15/year.
