Well, that's one way to encourage participation. Not a great way, but a way.

One thing I've noticed as I have gone through life, those who need to advertise they are a big dog, usually are hung like a hamster. Not saying in your case- especially if you are the 811th.

Well, it got you involved, so there's that.

> One thing I've noticed as I have gone through life, those who need to advertise they are a big dog, usually are hung like a hamster.

Really? The fact that you make such an observation says a great deal about roads you've traveled as you've "gone through life"; to say nothing of what you've done and the kind of people you've kept company with.

To attach a sexual connotation to a total stranger's online handle, that you don't know the origin or meaning of suggests that you're either 12 years old, or in serious need of counseling.

I was going to suggest one for you, but I'm not sure if it's one word, two words, or hyphenated so decided to drop it. Now, go play with the other children.

I used one of those little plastic tip-traps to catch one at work. I
gave the container to the maintenance guy, who took it outside and
either let it go or squashed it flat. I didn't want to know. Not my
problem.

I favor the old-fashioned spring traps. First, you need to adjust it so
it has an almost-hair trigger -- they come from the factory with various
pressures due to piss-poor quality control. The best bait I found was a
small piece of fruit attached to the bait platform with a few windings
of thread and some peanut butter smeared over it. Place it right next
to a wall -- they like to run along the edges rather than out through
the middle of the room. If you're squeamish, put the trap in a small
paper bag. If you see a tail sticking out in the morning you can just
throw the whole thing away. Yeah, I know, they're reusable. But not by
me.

I once picked one up where the mouse had just been caught by the snout,
and he JUMPED. Sorry to say I inhumanely threw him into the trash
without administering any sort of coup de grace whatsoever. His dumb
luck for being born a mouse.

Why would anyone want to do that? Unless you are
going to turn your kitchen into a coffee shop there
is no need to do this. Just keep your whole beans
in an airtight container and grind ONLY WHAT YOU WILL
USE IMMEDIATELY.

You think that was delish? Read this:

Found: A 2,000-Year-Old, 22-Pound, Still-Edible Hunk of Bog Butter

In Emlagh bog in County Meath, Ireland, which was once at the juncture of three different kingdoms, a turf cutter has found a giant knob of "bog butter," buried hundreds of years ago and preserved to this day.

"It did smell like butter," one person who held the giant lump told UTV Ireland.

"Bog butter" is butter that has been buried in a bog. The Irish Times describes it as a "creamy white dairy product, which smells like a strong cheese." The earliest known examples date back almost 2,000 years, but there are records of people burying butter as recently as the 1800s. This one is estimated to be an early example but will be studied further to date it.

Why would anyone bury butter in a bog? Often, to preserve it: butter made hundreds of years ago, without salt, wouldn't last long, but the cool, low oxygen environment of the bog could extend its life. Bog butter is sometimes found encased in wooden containers or animal hide, to protect it as well.

Me, three.

I use a Black & Decker Brew 'n Go. It makes up to a 16 ounce
insulated mug, included. I also grind the beans I'll need for
that mug of coffee daily with a burr grinder.

I make a full pot with whatever Mr. Coffee I bought at the last estate
sale (they don't last forever so I always have a backup out in the
garage) and Costco french roast beans ground with a yard-sale blade
grinder. I turn the machine off when the coffee is done and heat it up
in the microwave one cup at a time until it's gone -- generally two days.

It may be noted that I once drank half a cup of plain hot water in a
black cup at the office before it sank into my brain that the coffee was
AWFULLY weak today, so I'm pretty sure I don't qualify for a Gourmet
license.

In my defense, I've tried a French press and one of those little
aluminum stove-top espresso makers and didn't think either was any
better than what I normally do.

When I make coffee in this Brew 'n Go I put the creamer
and sweetener packets in the cup before starting the machine.
Once I made coffee and after stirring, but before tasting, I
thought that coffee sure is milky looking. I looked at the
coffee grinder and there were my freshly ground grounds waiting
on me.

I've thought of trying both makers you mentioned but I can't
bring myself spend the extra money just to see if I'd like
either one better. Especially when I'm already happy with the
coffee maker I have now.
