For 99-plus% of my cycling mileage on roads, I peacefully coexist with
motor vehicles while moving. .5% of the time I hog the lane usually for
only a few seconds, .2% of the time I get out of the traffic lane and stop
usually for a few seconds.

Maybe half of that 99% that I mentioned above is on streets with bike
lanes that are part of a network of bike lanes that actually go where I
have to go. The other half is significant. Living dangerously for long
includes learning and knowing how to do that in safer manners. It does
help me to do about 30% of my annual mileage driving vehicles driving one
that is enclosed, has 4 wheels and a motor, though I first did that after
11 years of driving bikes for a living by delivery jobs.

Probably also helps to get strength-building exercisine and good diet
with major fat-free milk intake and to have above-average tolerance of
pain. Though I have known a fellow delivery biker to go a decade without
significantly crashing (while making less money than most others due to
going slower). To me, crashes short of broken bones or hospital admission
(I have yet to experience crashes *that bad*) hurt less than cycling
uphill on the sunny side of the street in the hot summer weather that
Philadelphia gets too much of, or cycling when the temperature is in the
30's or around 40 F with rain and strong wind.

I see a need for cyclists to not hold up motorists too much. Motorists
can easily outvote cyclists in elections should this get to be any
election issue.

I bought three Sunbeams three years ago, we use them in the winter and
in our unheated pop-up camper in the late fall. I bought them at a
clearance outlet for $20 a piece.

All three work just fine thanks.

I think I missed any closeouts on king sized here in our small town. I
bought a queen and put it under the fitted sheet to warm the bed. It
was very warm, but I could feel the wires and they were uncomfortable
to sleep on. I took it off the bed and I plan on taking it back.

I may watch next year for a close out, but I think 3 regular king
sized blankets and a quilt will hold me this year.

Thanks everyone

Once upon a time the little animals of the jungle launched a
revolution --similar to Animal Farm-- and became owners of their own
destiny. It was an spectacle to behold and hopes were running high,
but soon after some Big Pigs commanded the revolution, and the little
animals became indifferent. Everything was DIRTY & DANGEROUS while the
pigs separated themselves from the rest with walls and jungle
vehicles. The rats overwhelmed the places where the little animals
lived and all the wrong strategies were followed to keep them away.
The foxes for their part made laws which were predatory and would keep
the money flowing. Many wars were declared, but it was only to produce
more chaos and confusion. Well, the little animals were told that the
wars required sacrifice and their dreams were postponed.

It was all in the spirit of democracy and elections and more
elections. Everything became a routine, and it is said many lived in
INDIFFERENCE. It was the wisdom of the Three Wise Monkeys that was
carefully followed. Some monkeys did MAKE NOISE, but they were totally
ignored. Everybody lived in the cage, including the pigs, and the
whole thing resembled a zoo...
