You are right EZ. I believe a space heater would have to be built
into the wall to meet most current codes.
The polyester fabric on my old couch melted one time when I had the
Toastmaster too close. A lamp in a ceiling fixture would be much
safer.

You can certainly try the lamp and see what it will do. I have a small
ceramic heater in my bathroom plugged into a ground fault outlet. If you
are worried about fire hazard, the oil filled radiator types are the
coolest, although they take the longest to warm up and are among the
largest.

I'm not sure which point you are questioning but the official rules for
McDonalds Monopoly indicate that there are a total of 3 Boardwalk
stamps that will be distributed one per week during the last 3 weeks of
the 4 week contest. Only Boardwalk has special distribution, presumably
the rest are all seeded randomly throughout the contest.
http://monopoly.corsis.com/monopoly07/page.do?page=rules_en.html

Lots of contests have had printing or technical difficulties that
forced them to change the prizes mid-game. I think Kraft had the
first major contest to go bad.

In 1989 Kraft's "Ready to Roll" promotion had a grand prize of a single
$17000 Dodge Caravan but it quickly became apparent that something had
gone terribly wrong in the printing of the winning boxes. As I recall
they went as far as trying to recall the product from grocier's shelves.
They still ended up with 10000 people thinking they had won a Caravan.

At the time I remember thinking Kraft's initial offer was pretty
generous, maybe 20? vans in random drawing of the "winners", but the
plaintiffs in the class action suit disagreed. It ended up costing
Kraft $10m. Now all competently run sweepstakes include clauses to
mitigate the damage from errors.

I purchased a really nice dress silk shirt that was marked as
irregular. I figured for $10 I could wear it around the house. It had
very visible stitching problems around the right shoulder. I wore it
regularly with a jacket and tie and no one ever knew.

it works pretty well on my Motorola cell phone when I'm entering in
new contacts; from what I call tell it uses the most commonly paired
letters. But I suspect it could get annoying like the spellchecker in
Word.

Considering the majority of the coffee makers I've had over the years
were $5 (and included 3 bags of coffee) from Gevalia (after which I
cancelled the future deliveries) I can't dispute your views. But I
can say these coffee makers (as I recall most were Melitta electric)
did the job with no bells/whistles.

As for "used" appliances, some of the older ones are better made and
sturdier, definitely worth the $1-$5 being asked for. Plus if you
don't use them often why buy new?

One thing I would have tried with your coffee maker would be to find
the broken part and fix it since you said it was simply made?

I use a coffee maker that I got from Gevalia on a similar promotional
offer. I didn't care so much for their coffee, but the pot works fine
for me. Mine even has a clock and can be set to start brewing at a
programmed time, but I never bother to use that feature.

A coffee maker is a good deal less complicated than a toaster. I never
really understood why someone would buy yet another electric gizmo when s/he
has a perfectly serviceable kitchen stove, or a microwave, than can heat a
few cups of water. The Vermont Country Store (no, I have no connection)
sells something called a drip-o-lator that makes drip coffee. Doubtless,
other establishments offer this or something similar, as plain or as fancy
as you want to get. I have a small one of these (2-cupper) that is at least
60 years old, and it works just fine - my parents bought it early in their
marriage, and gave it to me when I got my first apartment.

When that second hand coffee maker gives up the ghost, consider something
like this

They give you cash back for the difference if you don't spend the full
amount of the voucher on your next buying trip to Costco. I think you
can also go to the service desk and get cash back for the total amount
of the voucher if you don't want to shop there for awhile.

$50,000 for only $5 in two months? You gotta be crazy! How can you
make $50,000 for only $5? Well, that's what I was wondering too until
I came across this letter.

First of all, IT'S PERFECTLY LEGAL! (Call 1-800-725-2161) if you have
any questions about the following opportunity to make $50,000.00 and
that probably WITHIN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS!

Well, here it goes: A little while back, I was browsing these
newsgroups, just like you are now, and came across an article similar
to this that said you could make thousands of dollars within weeks
with
only an initial investment of $5.00! So I thought, "Yeah, right, this
must be a joke," but like most of us I was curious, so I kept reading.
Anyway, it said that you send $1.00 to each of the 5 names and
address
stated in the article. You then place your own name and address in
the
bottom of the list at #5, and post the article in at least 200
newsgroups. (There are thousands) No catch, that was it.

As I mentioned before, like most of us I was a little skeptical and a
little worried about the legal aspects of it all. So I checked it out
with the U.S. Post Office (1-800-725-2161) and they confirmed that it
is indeed legal!

What are the basics of each system and why are they legal? Each
system
follows the same basic steps which define a business by offering
others
the ability to get involved using the system you advertise in
newsgroups
on the Internet and accepting a small fee for the requests of those
who
respond to be added to your mailing list. Yes, you will be in the
business of creating your own mailing list. Their requests to be
added
to your mailing list which is sent with a $1 fee for your service
define
a legal business opportunity under U.S. Postal and Lottery Laws --- a
legal business opportunity for you which is covered in title 18,
sections 1302 and 1342 of the U.S. Postal and Lottery Laws.

Now, what one does, or does not do, with the mailing list being
constructed is a personal decision. One could decide to do nothing
with this list, to use it as a tool in building another business or
expanding an existing business. This decision is up to the creator of
the mailing list -- this decision is up to you.

Make sure you print a copy of this article NOW, so you can get the
information off of it as you need it. The process is very simple and
consists of 3 easy steps:

STEP 1: Get 5 separate pieces of paper and write the following on
each
piece of paper "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST." Now get 5 $1.00
bills and place ONE inside EACH of the 5 pieces of paper so the bill
will not be seen through the envelope to prevent thievery. Next,
place
one paper in each of the 5 envelopes and seal them. You should now
have
5 sealed envelopes, each with a piece of paper stating the above
phrase
and a $1.00 bill. What you are doing is creating a service by this.
THIS IS PERFECTLY LEGAL! Mail the 5 envelopes to the following
addresses:

#1 G. Duchacek
1825 Lee Janzen Drive,
Kissimmee Bay,
Kissimmee, FL. 347347

#2 T. Roberts
4810 Meadow Lark Lane
Paso Robles, CA 93446-4220

#3 D. Wild
32 Ridgeview Circle
Milan, Oh 44846

#4 Smith
935 E. South
Independence, MO 64050

#5 t. rojas
42-40 212st apt 3a
bayside, ny 11361

STEP 2: Now take the #1 name off the list that you see above, move
the
other names up (2 becomes 1, 3 becomes 2, etc.....) and add YOUR Name
as number 5 on the list.

STEP 3: Change anything you need to, but try to keep this article as
close to original as possible. Now, post your amended article to at
least 200 newsgroups. (There are over 35,000 groups with more being
added all the time) All you need is 200, but remember, the more you
post, the more money you make! Don't know HOW to post in the
newsgroups?
Well do exactly the following:

FOR NETSCAPE USERS:
1) Click on any newsgroup, like normal. Then click on "To News",
which
is in the top left corner of the newsgroup page. This will bring up a
message box.

2) Fill in the SUBJECT with a flashy title, like the one I used,
something to catch the eye!!!

3) Now go to the message part of the box and retype this letter
exactly
as it is here, with exception of your few changes. (remember to add
your
name to number 5 and move the rest up)

4) When your done typing in the WHOLE letter, click on 'FILE' above
the
send button. Then, 'SAVE AS..' DO NOT SEND YOUR ARTICLE UNTIL YOU
SAVE
IT. (so you don't have to type this 200 times :-)

5) Now that you have saved the letter, go ahead and send your first
copy! (click the 'SEND' button in the top left corner)

6) This is where you post all 200! OK, go to ANY newsgroup article and
click the 'TO NEWS' button again. Type in your flashy subject in the
'SUBJECT BOX', then go to the message and place your cursor here. Now
click on 'ATTACHMENT' which is right below the 'SUBJECT BOX'. Click
on
attach file then find your letter wherever you saved it. Click once
on
your file then click 'OPEN' then click 'OK'. If you did this right,
you
should see your filename in the 'ATTACHMENT BOX' and it will be
shaded.
NOW POST AWAY!

FOR INTERNET EXPLORER:
It's just as easy, holding down the left mouse button, highlight this
entire article, then press the 'CTRL' key and 'C' key at the same
time
to copy this article. Then print the article for your records to have
the names of those you will be sending $1.00 to.

Go to the newsgroups and press 'POST AN ARTICLE' type in your flashy
subject and click the large window below. Press 'CTRL' and 'V' and the
article will appear in the message window. **BE SURE TO MAKE YOUR
ADDRESS CHANGES TO THE 5 NAMES.** Now re-highlight the article and
re-copy it so you have the changes.... then all you have to do for
each
newsgroup is 'CTRL' and 'V' and press 'POST'. It's that easy!! THAT'S
IT! All you have to do is jump to different newsgroups and post away,
after you get the hang of it, it will take about 30 seconds for each
newsgroup!

**REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL
MAKE!! BUT YOU HAVE TO POST A MINIMUM OF 200**

**If these instructions are too complex to follow, try Forte's "Free
Agent." It is freeware for noncommercial use. To download it, simply
use a search utility and type "Forte Free Agent". You should be able
to
find it.**

That's it! You will begin receiving money from around the world within
days! You may eventually want to rent a P.O. Box due to the large
amount
of mail you receive. If you wish to stay anonymous, you can invent a
name to use, as long as the postman will deliver it. **JUST MAKE SURE
ALL THE ADDRESSES ARE CORRECT.**

Now the WHY part: This entire principle works because it is in a
format
of an upside down tree with thousands of branches. Everyone below you
will see to it that the tree continues because they want to get
money.
Those below THEM will continue because THEY want to get the cash
etc.
Out of 200 postings, say I receive only 5 replies (a very low
example).
So then I made $5.00 with my name at #5 on the letter. Now, each of
the
5 persons who just sent me $1.00 make the MINIMUM 200 postings, each
ith my name at #4 and only 5 persons respond to each of the original
5,
that is another $25.00 for me, now those 25 each make 200 MINIMUM
posts
with my name at #3 and only 5 replies each, I will bring in an
additional $125.00! Now, those 125 persons turn around and post the
MINIMUM 200 with my name at #2 and only receive 5 replies each, I will
make an additional $626.00! OK, now here is the fun part, each of
those
625 persons post a MINIMUM of 200 letters with my name at #1 and they
each only receive 5 replies, that just made me $3,125.00!!! With a
original investment of only $5.00! AMAZING! And as I said 5 responses
is actually VERY LOW! Average is probable 20 to 30! So lets put those
figures at just 15 responses per person. Here is what you will make:

at #5 $15.00
at #4 $225.00
at #3 $3,375.00
at #2 $50,625.00
at #1 $759,375.00

Your name is no longer on the list, you just take the latest posting
in
the newsgroups, and send out another $5.00 to names on the list,
putting
your name at number 5 and start posting again. The thing to remember
is
that thousands of people all over the world are joining the Internet
and
reading these articles everyday, JUST LIKE YOU are now!! And this will
go on and on and on and on.... get the picture? Well, there's over
5,000,000,000 people on the world and most of them will eventually end
up being hooked into the Internet. So there are virtually unlimited
resources. Of course this will work the best at the very beginning so
the faster you post, the better for YOU!

So can you afford $5.00 and see if it really works?? I think so!
People
have said, "what if the plan is played out and no one sends you the
money? So what! What are the chances of that happening when there are
tons of new honest users and new honest people who are joining the
Internet and newsgroups everyday and are willing to give it a try?
Estimates are at 20,000 to 50,000 new users, every day, with thousands
of those joining the actual Internet. Remember, play FAIRLY and
HONESTLY and this will work. You just have to be honest. Make sure
you
print this article out RIGHT NOW, also. Try to keep a list of everyone
that sends you money and always keep an eye on the newsgroups to make
sure everyone is playing fairly.

Remember, HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. You don't need to cheat the
basic
idea to make the money!! GOOD LUCK to all and please play fairly and
reap the huge rewards from this, which is tons of extra CASH. **By the
way, if you try to deceive people by posting the messages with your
name
in the list and not sending the money to the rest of the people
already
on the list, you will NOT get as much. Someone I talked to knew
someone
who did that and he only made about $150.00, and that's after seven or
eight weeks! Then he sent the 5 $1.00 bills, people added him to their
lists, and in 4-5 weeks he had over $10k. This is the fairest and most
honest way I have ever seen to share the wealth of the world without
costing anything but our time!!! You also may want to buy mailing and
e-mail lists for future dollars. Please remember to declare your
extra
income. Thanks once again.

From: lazybones

You can sew two sheets together and make your own comforter cover.
Put buttons or velcro on the end. Many years ago when we stayed in
an Austrian Chalet in the alps I fell in love with the big poofy
comforters on the bed and they were covered in white sheets that were
changed like the bed sheets. Anyway. I found this group when I was
searching for flat sheet information. In 2004 we bought a pillow top
mattress that is just too deep. It's only an 18 inch mattress but
with the Euro top on it I need to buy 20 inch fitted sheets and they
are stretched to the max. On top of that DH wants his sheets washed
every second day (he really wants every day) and my sheets take a
beating.
I have decided to go the flat sheet route like I did years ago. I
have a queen bed but if I get king sheets they will hang off two feet
and that would be good for tucking but not for the top sheet. I
figured I could get king for the bottom and queen for the top or queen
for both and get those mattress garters to hold the bottom sheet on
the bed. If I got kings and queens I would magic marker the king
on the bottom so I would know which was which when making the bed.
We belong to Sams Club and they have institutional sheets that come 6
in a package for less than 50 dollars. They only come in white and
are 200 TC but they have some polyester in them for wear and
wrinkles. That's ok with me if they are soft and smooth. I think I
will try them and let you know.

NO RISK INVESTMENT!!! TURN $6.00 INTO $6,000 OR $60,000...

I DID!!

Please Understand That READING THIS One MESSAGE WILL CHANGE YOUR
LIFE FOREVER!!

IT HELPED ME To Become Very Wealthy & IT CAN HELP YOU Too!!

This Is NOT A SCAM !!!!

I REPEAT NOT A SCAM!!

It Will Only COST YOU A $6.00 CASH !!

& IT Really Does WORK!!

PLEASE READ ALL Of This Amazing Article!!!

I found this on a bulletin board and decided to try it. A little
while back,
I was browsing through newsgroups, just like you are now,and came
across an
article similar to this that said you could make thousands of
dollars within
weeks with only an initial investment of Only $6.00!

I thought, "Yeah right, this must be a scam", but like most of us,
I was curious, so I kept reading.

The Article said that you send $1.00 to each
of the 6 names and addresses stated in the article. You then place
your own
name and address in the bottom of the list at #6, and post the
article in at
least 200 newsgroups.(There are thousands)

That was it!!

After thinking it over, and talking to a few people first, I
thought about trying it.
I figured: "What have I got to lose except 6 stamps and $6.00,
Right?" I Then invested the
$6.00.

... Well GUESS WHAT!?...* :-)

... Within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail! I was
shocked!

I figured it would end soon, but the money just kept coming in. In
my first week, I
made about $25.00. By the end of the second week I had made a
total of over
$1,000.00! In the third week I had over
$10,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth week and
I have made
a total of just over $42,000.00 and it's still coming in
rapidly. It's certainly worth $6.00, and 6 stamps, I have spent
more than
that on the lottery!!

Let me tell you how this works and most importantly,
WHY it works... Also, make sure you print a copy of this
article NOW, so you can get the information off of it as you need
it. I
promise you that if you follow the directions exactly, that you
will start
making more money than you thought possible by doing something so
easy!

Suggestions:

*Read this Entire Message Carefully! (print or download it)

*Follow the Simple Directions and watch the $$ Money Come in!

It's easy. It's legal. And, your investment is only $6.00 (Plus
postage)

IMPORTANT: This is not a rip-off; it is not illegal; and
it is 99% no risk to You - Remember ... It really works Too!

If all of the following instructions are adhered to, you will
receive
$$$ Extraordinary Dividends.

PLEASE NOTE:

Follow these directions EXACTLY, and $50,000 or more can be yours
in
20 to 60 days. This program remains successful because of the
honesty and
integrity of the participants. Please continue its success by
carefully
adhering to the instructions.

You will now become part of the Mail Order business. In this
business your
product is not solid and tangible, it's a service. You are in the
business of
developing Mailing Lists. Many large corporations are happy to pay
big bucks
for quality lists. However, the money made
from the mailing lists is secondary to the income which is made
from people
like you and me asking to be included in that list.

Here are the 4 easy steps to success:

STEP 1: Get 6 separate pieces of paper and write the following on
each piece
of paper "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST." Now get 6 US $1.00
bills and
place ONE inside EACH of the 6 pieces of paper so the bill will
not be seen
through the envelope (to prevent
thievery).

...Next, place one paper in each of the 6 envelopes and seal them.
You should now have 6 sealed envelopes, each with a piece of paper
stating
the above phrase, your name and address, and a $1.00 bill. What
you are doing
is creating a service. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY
LEGAL! You are requesting a legitimate service and you are paying
for it!
Like most of us I was a little skeptical and a little worried
about the legal
aspects of it all. So I checked it out with the U.S.
Post Office (1-800-725-2161) and they confirmed that it is indeed
legal. Mail
the 6 envelopes to the following addresses:

#1)Steven Lum
2255 W Arthur Ave
Chicago, IL 60645

#2)Bryan Montz
P.O. Box 88070
Houston, Tx 77288

#3)Peter J. Davidson
250 R. 98th St.
Stone Harbor, NJ 08247

#4)Reginald B. Ringgold
890 Davis St. Apt# 307
San Leandro, CA 94577

#5)Cynthia Boss
39 Pichette Blvd.
Woonsocket,RI 02895

#6)O.C. Allen
6709 La Tijera Blvd. #252
Los Angeles, CA. 90045

STEP 2: Now take the #1 name off the list that you see above, move
the other
names up 1 place (#2 becomes #1, #3 becomes #2, etc...) and add
YOUR name and
address as number 6 on the list.

STEP 3: Change anything you need to, but try to keep this article
as close to
original as possible. Now, post your amended article to at
least 200 newsgroups. (I think there are close to24,000 groups)
All you need
is 200, but remember, the more you post, the more money you make!
You won't
get very much unless you post like crazy. :)

This is perfectly legal! If you have any doubts, refer to Title 18
Sec. 1302
& 1341 of the Postal lottery laws. Keep a copy of these steps for
yourself and, whenever you need money, you can use it again, and
again.

PLEASE REMEMBER that this program remains successful because of
the honesty
and integrity of the participants and by their carefully
adhering to the directions. Look at it this way. If you are of
integrity, the
program will continue and the money that so many others have
received will
come your way.

NOTE: You may want to retain every name and address sent to you,
either on a
computer or hard copy and keep the notes people send you. This
VERIFIES that
you are truly providing a service. (Also, it might be a good idea
to wrap the
$1 bill in dark paper to reduce the risk of mail theft.)

So, as each post is downloaded and the directions carefully
followed, six
members will be reimbursed for their participation as a List
Developer with
one dollar each. Your name will move up the list geometrically so
that when
your name reaches the #1 position you will
be receiving thousands of dollars in CASH!!! What an opportunity
for only
$6.00 ($1.00 for each of the first six people listed above) Send
it now, add
your own name to the list and you're in business!

-----DIRECTIONS ----- FOR HOW TO POST TO NEWSGROUPS--------------

Step 1) You do not need to re-type this entire letter to do your
own posting.
Simply put your cursor at the beginning of this letter and drag
your cursor
to the bottom of this document, and select 'copy' from the edit
menu. This
will copy the entire letter into the
computer's memory.

Step 2) Open a blank 'notepad' file and place your cursor at the
top of the
blank page. From the 'edit' menu select 'paste'. This will paste a
copy of
the letter into notepad so that you can add your name to the list.

Step 3) Save your new notepad file as a .txt file. If
you want to do your postings in different settings, you'll always
have this
file to go back to.

Step 4) Use Netscape or Internet explorer and try searching for
various
newsgroups (on-line forums, message boards, chat sites,
discussions.)

Step 5) Visit these message boards and post this article as a new
message by
highlighting the text of this letter and selecting paste from the
edit menu.
Fill in the Subject, this will be the header that
everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a
particular
group, click the post message button. You're done with your first
one!
Congratulations...THAT'S IT! All you have to do is
jump to different newsgroups and post away, after you get the hang
of it, it
will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup! **REMEMBER, THE
MORE
NEWSGROUPS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE! BUT YOU
HAVE TO POST A MINIMUM OF 200** That's it! You will begin
receiving money
from around the world within days! You may eventually want to rent
a P.O.Box
due to the large amount of mail you will receive. If
you wish to stay anonymous, you can invent a name to use, as long
as the
postman will deliver it. **JUST MAKE SURE ALL THE ADDRESSES ARE
CORRECT.**

Now, each of the 5 persons who just sent me $1.00 make the MINIMUM
200
postings, each with my name at #5 and only 5 persons respond to
each of the
original 5, that is another $25.00 for me, now those 25 each make
200 MINIMUM
posts with my name at #4 and only 5 replies each, I will bring in
an
additional $125.00! Now, those 125 persons turn around and post
the MINIMUM
200 with my name at #3 and only receive 5 replies each, I will
make an
additional $625.00! The Cycle of $$Money Simply Continues...&
Makes You Very RICH!!!

You Are All Loved!!* :-)

XOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Looks as if it is time to repost the pitiful work history of Rod Speed.
He has had a total of one job as an adult.
A fast food place made the mistake of hiring him. He was moved from
the register because he could not handle public contact (customers
rarely enjoy being called fuckwits) and was moved to the fry grill.
He dropped a burger. The manager said "no problem, we all make
mistakes". Rod went into a tantrum and blamed the manager because, as we
know, he is never wrong.
He was then given the job of cleaning the rest rooms. He was fired
when , rather than scrub a toilet, he kept flushing it while yelling
"reams of puerile shit flushed down the toilet".
This all happened before lunch on the first day.
Rod has never had a another job. Keep in mind when one starts a new
job these things happen:
Your boss tells you what to do- Rod can never bear that.
You have questions-Rod never admits to not knowing everything.
You make a mistake-Rod can never admit to one.

Ever since then Rod has been on the dole. The check comes twice a
month and near the end of the cycle his posts make it obvious that the
meds have run out.
Each new case worker at the welfare office is assigned to Rod. They
keep hoping that a new person is hired to take over his case.

The Rod Speed glossary:

Fuckwit-Anyone who questions Rod.
Terminal fuckwit- anyone who posts a cite disproving what Rod thinks.
Monkey-someone with a job.
Ape-someone with a good paying job.
Sales fool- someone with a good paying job that requires public
contact and communications skills. Rod hates sales people because he was
turned down for a job selling magazine subscription on the phone and
thinks all sales job are low paying positions reading scripts in a
boiler room.
