Don't be surprised when Obama "loses" the election: the Republicans
are up to their usual tricks—disenfranchising potential Democratic
voters—and on a more massive scale than ever before. See the results
of an investigation by voting rights attorney Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.,
and Greg Palast published in Rolling Stone:

http://www.gregpalast.com/rolling-stone-its-already-stolen/

Kennedy and Palast conclude that, "If Democrats are to win the 2008
election, they must not simply beat McCain at the polls—they must beat
him by a margin that exceeds the level of GOP vote tampering."

A few highlights:

- Kennedy charges that there has been a resurgence of 'Jim Crow'
tactics wrongly to block Black and Hispanic voters.

- Republican Secretaries of State of swing-state Colorado have quietly
purged one in six names from their voter rolls, ten times the average
state's rate of removal.

- While Obama dreams of riding to the White House on a wave of new
voters, more then 2.7 million have had their registrations REJECTED
under new procedures signed into law by George Bush.

- A fired US prosecutor levels new charges - accusing leaders of his
own party, Republicans, with criminal acts in an attempt to block
legal voters as "fraudulent."

- Since the last presidential race, "States [have] used dubious 'list
management' rules to scrub at least 10 million voters from their
rolls." Among those was Paul Maez of Las Vegas, New Mexico - a victim
of an unreported but devastating purge of voters in that state that
left as many as one in nine Democrats without a vote. For Maez, the
state's purging his registration was particularly shocking - he's the
county elections supervisor.

And how many illegal aliens does that leave, to vote for the party that
holds out the candy jar?

even in non-swing states college students are being disenfranchised.

Voter fraud is what the Repubs complain about in their effort to accomplish
election fraud, which is the real problem. Voter fraud is not really an issue,
other than as an excuse to exclude voters from having their votes counted.

I'm a 50 year old woman, and I really couldn't get by with half the number
of shoes. I have 5 pairs. One pair of black dress pumps, one pair of summer
sandals, one pair of lace up shoes, one pair of sneakers, and one pair of
winter boots.

I wonder what other people do with the end of a bar of soap. Being a
frugal person, I get it good and squishy moist, and p-r-e-s-s it onto a
new bar of soap. I've been known to save the unused portion of a
mini-bar from a hotel, and do the same. Sometimes it doesn't look
pretty, but it's only soap.

I tend to do the same thing with my soap; most of the time it works to
adhere to the new bar.

On a related subject; what's up with these shampoo bottles that don't
have twist off caps (VO5 comes to mind)? They have really small
dispensing holes and it's very hard to add water to get the last bit
out. Same with some of these jugs of detergent (though I do poke a
drain hole in the bottom side to drip into a new jug).

The whole top just snaps off--use the back of a strong kitchen
knife--and then snaps back on after you've added water. Although I do
use the squish-onto-the new-bar technique for soap, I really don't
think diluting the shampoo is worthwhile. Instead I just store the
nearly-empty bottle upside down and use it from that inverted
position.

I put the slivers in a bucket in water near the washing machine and use
a bottle brush to apply the liquid soap to spot treat stubborn dirt
spots. Like ring around the collar. Works great!

That's 40 out of a possible 200 or so. Selection is everything.

You get extra points if you grab their rosaries before they hit the ground.

You can still select when doing it with a GPS.

I've nearly been mislead myself. I put back my 27% cranberry juice when
I spotted the "Cranberry 100% Juice" (or something like that). Careful
examination, lead to the discovery that it was not 100% cranberry, but
something like 17% cranberry and assorted other juices.

A new trick, all the time.

Lets face it, nobody drinks cranberry for the flavor!
