Soooooo, which one did you choose?????????
lenona321@yahoo.com: Nov 30 01:45PM -0800

Well, I found it via MSN, anyway.

Don't think I've heard the phrase before - but I'm glad I know about it now!

https://www.rd.com/culture/four-word-phone-scam/

Excerpt:

...Paul Marcarelli is not on the other line. For those wondering who Paul Marcarelli is, just watch any Verizon commercial from the mid-2000s, or any modern day Sprint commercial. He became famous for his six-word catchphrase, "Can you hear me now? Good," but now a variation of that very phrase is a go-to weapon for phone scammers.

If you receive a call and immediately hear the phrase "Can you hear me?," hang up. The phrase is used to coax you into saying "yes," a word that, if said in your voice, is as good as gold for con artists. Scammers online are just as sneaky, so be aware of how to avoid these 10 online scams.

The person on the other end will be recording the call, and would then use the track of you saying "yes" to access your sensitive information. How? The three-letter word is used frequently by companies to confirm account changes, security settings, and purchases, giving the scammer extensive access to your stuff...

You got caught in the same click bait as I did. I hate these damn articles
that people post and they're only wanting to sell you something which is
really what this article's purpose is.

IT turn out, when people don't have to worry about cost every time they
go to the doctor, they are happier. And healthier. and live longer and
better. And cost a lot less to keep healthy.

That's why the rest of the industrialized world is healthier, happier,
live longer, have lower infant mortality. And spend 1/2 as much as we do.

Ignore the never-ending lies about how they hate their "medicare for
all". Few of them would not immediately condemn any effort to convert to
our stupid expensive system. People in UK demonstrated immediately when
trump suggested that they should change to our system.

First, define the problem. Then assess how much people are willing to
sacrifice to solve the problem.

It is clear to me that the underlying problem is that we have expanded
the world population too much to be sustainable at this level, much less
any constantly-increasing level above current. My plan is to cut the
number of children being born so the world population will shrink to a
level that is sustainable. Restrictions on the number of children a
couple can have was tried in China, and worked to some extent, but was
deemed socially unacceptable.

As for the specific issue of natural gas, banning its use is NOT a
solution at all! Replacing all that gas use with electricity means
electric production will have to be significantly increased. In the
near term, until wind & solar with adequate storage is practical on that
scale, additional electric production will be via burning natural gas.
A gas furnace in the home is 95-98% efficient. Producing electricity
from natural gas is AT BEST 50% efficient. So banning home use will
actually increase consumption!

Perhaps change the way the sun works. Altering the laws of physics
might also be helpful. Easiest, although less possible, would be
slapping some common sense into a lot of people.

Nope. If implemented, my solution would not be a failure. If NOT
implemented, no other solution to the problem is going to be successful.

My proposed solution shows the scope of the problem, which otherwise
will be severely underestimated, causing ANY attempts to resolve the
problem to ultimately fail.

Exactly. Something is very, very wrong at Boeing where such obvious and
serious problems got identified, yet nothing happened. Some people should
probably go to jail. And not one word from Boeing about how the system
failed, what they've done to fix the system, etc.

Also mysteriously missing in all this is what was the root cause of the
actual two failures? It looks 99.9% like it was MCAS getting a wrong
input from the AOA sensor. But why? Why did two close to new AOA
sensors fail? Was it the AOA, the installation, wiring? What?
And if it's the AOA are they used on other planes? Does the company
that makes them have similar designs in other planes that could fail
in a similar way?

Too late. I bought mine almost 32 years ago.

It recently got worse for Boeing. They thought they had fixed just the
MCAS system and that was it. Upon testing, some new issue showed up which
now requires the flight computers to have changes made too. To do that
and certify it has added to the delay. And since they screwed up so badly
before, how much confidence should we have that they won't screw up
something again in the new work? My concern level has ticked up on any
planes that have rolled out of Boeing in the last few years. Like the 777-X.
Anyone want to be among the first to fly on that when it rolls out?
They already had to return the jet engines that the first test plane used
because there is a problem causing premature wear. Then some door blew
off during a pressure test. IDK, I used to strongly prefer taking a Boeing
plane over Airbus, but that's gone now.

Can anyone explain why that CEO is still there? I've never heard him
describe what lead to this disaster. I've never heard him describe
what internal investigation is going on, what they have done to examine
all the other airplane design and builds, what they have done to fix
whatever problems actually lead to this disaster. All I've heard is
sorry, we're fixing it.

Without even getting into the politics I have to believe the people
promoting the idea had never been to Seattle. Or Portland. If nothing
else this is the stomping ground of the 9th Circuit, the most screwed up
court in the land.

It's interesting that in all the discussions about global warming,
decline of species, loss of forests, you never hear discussion of
dealing with the biggest driver of that, population growth. And even
if we did, I see little chance of it happening. For example here in
the US, Social Security is already facing a crisis, as there are more
retirees living longer, so they desperately need more new money flowing
in. You can only get that by raising the tax rate or more people working.
I think you'll find similar issues in most countries. The various
activist groups should join forces on an effort to reduce population
growth.

+1

Especially dumb when most nat gas usage in homes is from 5pM to 7AM,
ie when the sun isn't shining. I guess encouraging electric water
heaters might be a net positive, heating the water mostly during the
day. But if you look at the cost of fuels, it's a disaster compared
to nat gas and any delta is still pretty much a fart in the wind.
