I think I can relate to this:

"I ride my bicycle to work every day, that keeps me healty, fit and
it's great fun, still I enjoy driving fast on the Autobahn, if
needed."

Like the people who post there, C.L. staff are a scummy group.

In addition to asking for fon numbers, so they can block users
they who are critical of them, they routinely configure their
servers to indicate your ad has been posted, complete with a
view of the ad. Problem is, it hasn't. This is called
"ghosting". It should be called sleezeball dishonest tactics,
bordering on cracker activity.

http://www.snopes.com/medical/drugs/orajel.asp

emainder of signature block elided ]
Origins: In April 2011 , the U .S . Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) issued a safety announcement confirming the account
described above, warning that in rare cases the use of
benzocaine (commonly found in over-the - counter gels and
liquids used for teething pain in infants ) can result in a
condition known as methemoglobinemia , symptoms of which
include shortness of breath and blue skin:
The U . S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning the
public that the use of benzocaine, the main ingredient in over-
the -counter (OTC ) gels and liquids applied to the gums or
mouth to reduce pain, is associated with a rare, but serious
condition. This condition is called methemoglobinemia and
results in the amount of oxygen carried through the blood
stream being greatly reduced. In the most severe cases ,
methemoglobinemia can result in death .
Benzocaine gels and liquids are sold OTC under different brand
names such as Anbesol , Hurricaine , Orajel, Baby Orajel,
Orabase , and store brands . Benzocaine is also sold in other
forms such as lozenges and spray solutions ( also see separate
Drug Safety Communication on Benzocaine Sprays ). These
products are used
to relieve pain from a variety of conditions , such as teething,
canker sores , and irritation of the mouth and gums.
Methemoglobinemia has been reported with all strengths of
benzocaine gels and liquids , including concentrations as low as
7 .5 %. The cases occurred mainly in children aged two years or
younger who were treated with benzocaine gel for teething.
People who develop methemoglobinemia may experience pale,
gray or blue colored skin , lips, and nail beds; shortness of
breath ; fatigue; confusion ; headache; lightheadedness ; and
rapid heart rate. In some cases , symptoms of
methemoglobinemia may not always be evident or attributed to
the condition. The signs and symptoms usually appear within
minutes to hours of applying benzocaine and may occur with
the first application of benzocaine or after additional use . If you
or your child has any of these symptoms after taking
benzocaine, seek medical attention immediately .
Benzocaine products should not be used on children less than
two years of age , except under the advice and supervision of a
healthcare professional . Healthcare professionals and
consumers are advised to consider the American Academy of
Pediatrics' recommendations for treating teething pain instead
of using the benzocaine teething products :
o Give the child a teething ring chilled in the refrigerator.
o Gently rub or massage the child's gums with your finger to
relieve the symptoms of teething in children .
If these methods do not provide relief from teething pain,
consumers should talk to a healthcare professional to identify
other treatments . Adult consumers who use benzocaine gels or
liquids to relieve pain in the mouth should follow the
recommendations in the product label . Consumers should
store benzocaine products out of reach of children. FDA
encourages consumers to talk to their healthcare professional
about using benzocaine.

For my Honda, the dealer replaces the wiper inserts for free once a
year. I had them do it when I was in for an oil change

I know what's coming next: It's not frugal to go to the dealer for an
oil change! Believe me, I had similar thoughts. In the past, I have
always done my own (frugal) oil changes. But I discovered that the
dealer will change my oil and filter, replace the wiper blades (if
due) and wash the car for less than it costs me to buy the oil and
filter at the auto parts store. So it seems like a no-brainer to me.

I don't know how much longer I can get Jim McNamara to be my second for our
duel on the banks of the Ohio. He has lots of other troubles right now. Jim
and I have had our differences over the years. but I trust him. He is after
all a gentleman.

This duel must be arranged just right or I will refuse to enter into it. It
must be as prescribed by every novel I ever read in my misspent youth. Honor
is all that matters. It must be a gentlemanly duel with pistols at the crack
of dawn, and only on the banks of the Ohio. No other river will do. I
suggest we wear Victorian clothing reminiscent of the 19th century. God, I
simply hate this fucking 21st century.

In the event of my death, I will bequeath all of my pussy cats (12) to you.
They are far better than you, but you have shown yourself to be a cat lover,
so you can't be all bad even though you are a liberal-socialist-communist
bastard of the worst sort.

Wasn't it the Christians who burned most of the classics, and the
Arabs the ones who saved many of the remaining books?

You are a librarian so you are the man who should have the facts
straight...

(why does it take a monkey to remind you?)

(I QUOTE)

I got an interesting question a while back that took a LOT of
research, but which was also very instructive...the questioner wrote:

Interesting page. I was recently researching Josh McDowell's "Evidence
That Demands A Verdict", and in Chapter 5, he provides evidence of the
Bible's survivability throughout time.

He points out that The Bible has survived longer, and has been copied
so many more times than other works.

Isn't that a bit of a half-truth? I understand that the early church
used to throw away non-Christian literature, or edit it (as in the
Josephus testimony, where a Christian scribe added in the section
about Jesus). The Dark ages were caused, in part, by the burning of
many non-Christian writings on science, literature, engineering, and
Mathematics, because many Christian scribes who copied books for a
living, felt that it was the right thing to do.

The Islamic world, on the other hand, did not suffer the kind of dark
ages that the Christian world did, and they actually preserved many of
the works that Christians destroyed. By the time of the crusades, many
Europeans were rediscovering books that they thought were long since
destroyed.

To me book burners are book burners, even if they demanded the burning
the Bible.

I'd be worried though if everyone walked around with a copy of Mein

used to throw away non-Christian literature, or edit it (as in the
Josephus testimony, where a Christian scribe added in the section
about Jesus). The Dark ages were caused, in part, by the burning of
many non-Christian writings on science, literature, engineering, and
Mathematics, because many Christian scribes who copied books for a
living, felt that it was the right thing to do.

The Dark Ages came about due to the Fall of the Roman Empire and various
barbarian tribes pouring into Europe who did not have a clue about
civilization. It was Christianity (mainly Protestantism) which crated the
conditions for the rise of science as a way of knowing things. No other
culture ever did that. If you had had a liberal arts education at the
college level, you would know this. You are just as ignorant as Tom Sherman
about anything that matters.

>> The Islamic world, on the other hand, did not suffer the kind of dark
ages that the Christian world did, and they actually preserved many of
the works that Christians destroyed. By the time of the crusades, many
Europeans were rediscovering books that they thought were long since
destroyed.

The Islamic world never got out of the Dark Ages. Hells Bells, they are
still living in the Dark Ages. Only the Christian West alleviates somewhat
their Medieval mind set.

Funny, but obviously NOT the real Derald witing. The real Derald is
much smarter and would have quickly realized that " What makes
'bloggers think anyone but them and, maybe, their mothers gives a
rat's ass about what's going on in their silly heads? " could be said
of <ahem> those who engage in feeble usenet reparte between tibeten
cyclists, aussie idiots, and Chinamen advertising Nike. Those are
their caring and insightful playmates. One hesitates to think WHAT
their mothers must have been like for those lusers to be held in such
high regard.

Blogs are faucets that pay money. Usenet has become the toilet where
the roaches are taking over.

As war criminals go, the one referenced was a bit smarter than the one
whose most convincing defense for missing the mark and getting
thousands killed without cause was... "duh... I got bad intelligence."
The first got us to the moon. The second should have been sent there.

Enough. I've got better things to do. Try not to foul the playpen
too much.

Not that you care, but I'm one of those Huntsville residents.

I wonder what your course of action would be if someone pointed a gun in

Clearly, the heat and humidity has caused most of your brain to turn

Yesterday my son and I went camping in our 1969 Ford Econoline. This
morning, we washed the windows and cleaned the wiper blades - one of
which promptly came apart. The rubber had come apart, that is. I
remember just a few years ago, spending $3 for a pair of wiper blade
refills.

We visited numerous stores in search of wiper blade refills - Meijer,
a couple of auto parts places, Kmart, and Wal-Mart. Only one of them
had any selection at all of wiper blade refills, but not the size we needed.

Instead of spending 3 or 4 bucks for a couple of refills, I had to
replace the entire metal assembly for over $6 each. That's over 3 times
what I was expecting to spend, simply because I couldn't replace only
the part that had worn out.

Now I'm left with the old metal wiper blade assemblies, which appear
to be of better quality than the new ones.

Is there no national chain that still carries a good selection of
wiper blade refills? I feel like I should get a couple, then put these
on the shelf for next time. I hate throwing them away, just because
people have gotten used to throwing them all away each time. What a
waste of resources!

The blades I need are 8mm wide, which is just about 2mm wider than
the widest one that single auto parts place had.

Hell, I'm surprised that you got "a few years ago" service from replacement
refills! My experience and reaction was the same as yours. Within a fifteen mile
radius, I have an Advance, an Autozone, a NAPA and a Walmart (which doesn't
count). None of them carries just the slide-in refills. Now, I get to pay approx
three times the price for _plastic_ blade assemblies. The Advance chickie-pop,
looking as if she'd seen a Neaderthol, informs me that "nobody sells just the
refills anymore". It's that old free money thing: Force the rubes to spend an
additional five bux for something that costs twelve cents to manufacture and get
on the shelves and that he doesn't need in the first place. I think they learned
it from those damnable telephone companies that charge the gullible exhorbitant
prices for "plans" consisting of unneeded and largely unused "services" that
cost nearly nothing to provide. And you know what? It ain't gonna get no better.

When it comes to safety items (tires, brakes, wipers, etc.) It doesn't
pay to be cheap.

Wipers arent a safety item, even you should notice when they stop working properly.

A couple of things we may suggest to the Dutch experts (since we can
spot the problems as well):

1- In Amsterdam and Copenhagen... "speed limits within these cities
are on the order of 30 km/hr or 19 mph."

2- "The vast majority of bicyclists in the US have no real
possibilities of cycling in environments like those of Portland or
Davis."

3- "Most state and local DOT officials have little interest in making
communities safe for bicyclists."

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0870714198/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

We tried the bridge from Aventura to Collins and found out that
neither pedestrians nor cyclists have minimal protection from highway
speeds. Ramps at sidewalks are missing, and you wonder if there's
another kinder gentler bridge over the canal. In fact, when you get to
the top of the bridge and you see the water below... you feel like
ending the suffering. Just kidding, just 30 minutes later we were
swimming at the beach. Remember, LIFE CAN BE A BEACH!

A much better treatment is to use soap and water, a towel followed by
antibiotic cream and a bandage (e.g., Band-Aid(R)).

The real point with all of this internet forum razamataz is if
you CHOOSE to ride a bike so be it, But if I don't "So Be It",
when we start telling others to see things "MY" way then the
real wars begin. I CHOOSE to ride a minivan because a 7' Bass

This would be so much easier if one could post a PDF here but
here is a website that teaches you the same thing, What works
for Wifi WORKS for cell phones as well. I built one of these
and I can hit any unsecured Wifi spot within ten miles of my
vehicle, Oh ya this would look weird strapped on a bike? I
wouldn't recommend it. Here's the site hurry the Article is
getting ready to "Time Out".

biquad-dish-antenna/
">

You can cut corners by getting a Pad antenna and using that on
the Dishes horn but the construction is pretty simple, I opted
out of the cost and built the Pad myself. Some HAMS call them
"BowTie" antennas. Others may use the term "Pressure-Zone"
what-ever.

Really? I think that I'd miss having my cell phone, seeing as it
actually works, as opposed to the last land line that I had (which
Verizon claimed worked, and had no problem charging me for, but would
stop working if it was raining, humid, windy, etc. or even for no
discernable reason.) My monthly cell bill was cheaper than my (basic,
no long distance) land line bill too.

There's a reason that I haven't had a land line in years, and it
starts with "V" and ends in "erizon."

yup yup yup

also my cellphone has free unlimited mobile-to-mobile minutes no
matter who the carrier is, and free "night and weekend" minutes so
it's a very rare call (would have to be during the day, on a weekday,
and to a land line) for which I actually get charged minutes. And I
have 450 of those a month. I don't talk on the phone nearly enough to
get to that. I finally drank the Kool-Aid and got a smart phone a
couple months ago, and it's cool as heck, but even before that, I was
cell only for about seven years just because the convenience of the
cell was great, and with high-speed internet there was no longer any
compelling reason at all to pay for a land line which pretty much
would never get used. (why would I make a LD call from a land line
and get charged for it, when I can make the same call for free from my
cell?)

And, like I said, it works, without hassle. Unlike the last THREE
times I got a land line from V*****n, about whom I don't have the
vocabulary to clearly explain to you just how badly and in how many
different ways they suck. And I am quite fluent in colloquial English
profanity.

The only thing is , I don't ride a bike, I preffer a Harley if I
do, Most the time I jump off cliffs with a BIG kite strapped to
my back and chase the Eagles on the way down Grandfather
Mountain in the Smokies for a thrill. Oh Ya I might be puffing
on a joint when I do. Then I might Do somebody in the park in
the woods before I jump in my VAN and go home.
Another lovely day in my non-Christian neighborhood .
Thank the Godess for Pagens, they are willing to have sex
anytime anywhere with anyone !!! HOOOoorrraaaaa!!!!
