Derald <derald@invalid.net>: Nov 23 11:48PM -0500

In the middle 1960's, frustrated with the aerosol cans of goo being sold
as "shaving cream", I began using "old fashioned" shaving soap, in a
cup, applied with a soft specialized brush.

In the late 1970"s, when Gillette retired the "Super Blue Blade" brand
and moved exclusively to stainless steel razor blades that seemed
already to be dull at first use, I obtained an antique "cutthroat"
straight razor along with the required accessories and, after a fairly
brief learning period, discovered the means to a truly close shave.

Now, however, I am incapable of the finesse required to control the
sraight razor safely and have reverted to the old Gillette adjustable
handle and double-edged blades.

Which leads me to the request: Can anyone direct me to a source for
truly sharp double-edged razor blades? IME those expensive auto-clogging
multi-blade dispozos being marketed as shaving implements nowadays just
don't make the grade.
Thanks,

Also, I have noticed that only the label of the smallest bottle (16 oz.) says that it is for hand washing.

Does that mean that the larger sizes are strictly for machine washing and canNOT be used for hand washing?

I don't understand any of this stuff except watching my portfolio, which is really just some standard bond & mutual funds bounce back and forth by ridiculous amounts. At least in the last few weeks it recovered from the staggering losses of March and hopefully it stays that way before I start having to live off it.

Figure out the HP part numbers, then search the internet, ebay, amazon,
etc. for those numbers and or the part name along with the printer model
#. Prices/shipping vary widely. I ended up at "laserprinterkits" on
ebay for my LJ 6L.

Something that I found that helped get paper rollers to grab the paper
properly was to use scotch tape to "clean" the roller by sticking a
piece of tape to the surface of the roller then pulling it off, then
turn the roller a bit and do it again until you have cleaned the entire
surface or the roller. If that makes it work for awhile, that might be a
roller you want to replace.

Where did you find/buy the fix-up for your LJ6L? I've
got a LJ4 in my closet that just needs the rollers
replaced (as far as I can tell).

HP used to sell the kits themselves, but stopped doing
so at some point. I'd like to the the old one working
again since, as you say, the ink jets are more trouble
than they're worth to keep running.

TIA!

In the past, with an HP printer, yes.

However, I bought a Brother laser printer for less than $200 over 10
years ago. Still works fine most of the time - occasionally chokes on
cardstock when printing postcards, but is fine if I only load 2 or 3
sheets at a time.

I recently spent a few bucks for a new "separation pad" and feed roller
for my ancient thrift shop HP LJ6L, which works like new now. I still
have a few "new" toners for it that someone freecycled to me years ago.
The last thing I bought for printing was 15 or 20 years ago when I
bought a full box of paper (5000 sheets) at a thrift shop for a few dollars.

I also have a magicolor 2430DL color laser printer I received through
freecycle that I use if I need color printing or faster printing. I have
done nothing to it but a couple of small adjustments.

I quickly learned that inkjet printers were way more trouble and expense
than they were worth.
