You misunderstand. I was objecting to you making anti-American jokes
about allowing our children to chew toys at the advanced age of 6, which
I deem to be a much less vicious method of child-rearing than the
practice of killing unwanted girl babies. You then said that you had
been "cranking you people up for amusement". I figure that if you find
injured and/or dying children a source of amusement, you might enjoy a
trip to some of the African countries.

I have no control over African or Iraqui widows. Nor do I have a cat or
dog.

I'n mot a European. Neither were my parents. My grandparents came to
the US from Germany, Norway and Sweden as children. To the best of my
knowledge, none of them raped anyone or anything in Africa. Moreover,
I'm pretty sure I derive minimal or no benefit at all from anything that
happens in Africa and probably suffer actual losses incurred when my tax
money is spent to shore up otherwise untenable African institutions.

Short version: Not my problem.

Yes, they will soon see that their well-paying jobs as well as their
minimum-wage manufacturing jobs are being exported to China.

I'm sure that the Mainland Chinese are equally able to publicize
American and European missteps in Africa. Oh, they're not? Curious...

I observe that you use American software and post from a Canadian ISP.
Is there some reason you aren't still in China? Not that you're not
welcome in North America -- after all, Chinese food is for the most part
very good, although I regard the consumption of a fish fried and eaten
while it's still alive to be a bit over the top -- but it wouldn't hurt
to be a bit more polite to your hosts. After all, in the words of John
Steinbeck, "If you're hustling a state you should do honor to that
state."[1]

And on the other hand, children recover from lead poisioning much better
than adults. Don't be careless, but don't panic because there's a bit in
the same room with you.

Oh--your car battery is a lead-acid device, and contains several pounds
of lead.

Hi Jim,
I can see your point. If fidelity was what we were looking for, it wouldn't
make sense. But, what we're looking for is "watchability".

My Mom, who is in her late 80s, wanted to see a TV show on her TV.
The show aired in December of last year.
I found the show as a torrent but could not download due to no seeds.
I then found the show, in bits and pieces, on YouTube.
But, my Mom doesn't have Internet access.
She does have a combination DVD player TV we bought her a few years ago.
So ... it should be obvious now ... by converting YouTube to DVD, she can
now watch the TV show on her TV.

Do you know of any other way for her to watch a TV show that is long gone
on her TV?

If you do, please let me know as this method is the best I could come up
with but I'm no genius. I just asked you guys for help, that's all.

Once, my mother had a mouse problem; I set four traps in her utility room.
Later, I found three traps with dead mice and no bait; the fourth had both
bait and mouse. That was a clear indication there were none left. Contrary
to what the manufacturers say, the scents on a mousetrap don't deter them.
They'll raid the bait with a dead sibling within an inch.

ya mean this story?

After 17 years of marriage, a man dumped his wife for
his young secretary. His new girlfriend demanded that
she wanted to live in the couple's multimillion dollar
home, and since the man's lawyers were a little better,
he prevailed. He gave his now ex-wife just 3 days to move out.
She spent the first day packing her belongings into
boxes, crates and suitcases.
One the second day, she had the movers come and
collect her things.
On the third day, she sat down for the last time at
their beautiful dining room table by candlelight, put
on some soft background music, and feasted on a pound
of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of Chardonnay.
When she had finished, she went into each and every
room and deposited a few half-eaten shrimp shells,
dipped in caviar, into the hollow of the curtain rods.
She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.
When the husband returned with his new girlfriend, all
was bliss for the first few days. Then slowly, the
house began to smell. They tried everything; cleaning
& mopping and airing the place out. Vents were
checked for dead rodents, and carpets were steam
cleaned. Air fresheners were hung everywhere.
Exterminators were brought in to set off gas
canisters, during which they had to move out for a few
days, and in the end they even paid to replace the
expensive wool carpeting. Nothing worked. People
stopped coming over to visit...Repairmen refused to
work in the house...The maid quit...Finally, they
could not take the stench any longer and decided to move.
A month later, even though they had cut their price in
half, they could not find a buyer for their stinky
house. Word got out, and eventually, even the local
realtors refused to return their calls.
Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from
the bank to purchase a new place. The ex-wife called
the man, and asked how things were going. He told her
the saga of the rotting house. She listened
politely, and said that she missed her old home
terribly, and would be willing to reduce her divorce
settlement in exchange for getting the house back...
Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was,
he agreed on a price that was about 1/10th of what the
house had been worth...But only if she were to sign
the papers that very day. She agreed, and within the
hour, his lawyers delivered the paperwork.
A week later, the man and his new girlfriend stood
smirking as they watched the moving company pack
everything to take to their new home...

Hi Paul,
Yes. I noticed the same thing. When I downloaded the YouTube video to FLV
and then converted the FLV to AVI and then converted the AVI to DVD, I had
serious lip-sync problems crop up. I dunno why. But there they were.

That's why I suggested the Free-YouTube-Download method instead:
http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm

This method skips the FLV2AVI step, converting directly from YouTube2AVI,
and, it seems in my tests so far, the lip-sync problems are vastly
diminished.

Now, I might ask ... what causes the lip-sync problems in the first place?
That is, is there anything we can do to prevent lip-sync problems?
