If I was this person, I would complain in writing to CVS' CEO. Go right
to the top. The last thing a CEO wants to see is is company getting a
bad reputation because that hurts the bottom line.

Wear small bells that allow the grizzly to hear you approach.
This will prevent you from surprising them.
Carry pepper spray to attempt to ward off grizzlies.
Know the signs of bears to be aware of their presence.
Black bear droppings usually contain berries or seeds.
Grizzly bear droppings will contain small bells and smell like pepper.

There has been much discussion on the subject recently because of an
unusually high incidence of bear attacks this year - poor berry crops
have led bears to seek food farther afield.

The professional naturalists laugh at this suggestion. Even an
immature black bear can roll you over.

The advice that these professionals give is this: fight. Your only
chance is to convince the bear you are not worth the effort.

There are different bear behaviours - some bears are simply being
territorial or seeing you as a competitor for food. They will huff and
snort and paw. You should show yourselves, and back away slowly,
never turning your back on the bear.

Some bears, but very rarely become desparate enough to hunt you for
food. They will stalk you, hunching down and trying not to make noise.
These are the bears you'd better be prepared to fight.

I was discussing bears with a backcountry canoist who has twenty years
experience in Algonquin park. He has never seen a truly wild bear do
anything but run from humans. He has seen 4 wild bears in 20 years.
The more dangerous bears are those who scavange campgrounds for food
and become used to human presense. They lose their fear of humans, and
if they are truly hungry can't be scared from a food source like a
cooler. I met one of them a few weeks back in Grundy, a group of us
followed the protocol and shouted waved and made our selves noisy, but
this bear was not scared of humans at all, and didn't enter the bear
traps. He was eventually killed.

Glad to hear that more and more plug-in electric cars and scooters
won't cause blackouts and electric rate increases to upgrade the grid
(so blackouts won't occur.)

Glad to hear that more and more plug-in electric cars and scooters
won't result in a need for more and more worldwide polluting power
plants to meet those electric demands- especially in China, India,
Thailand, Japan etc. etc. , MEXICO and the U.S. !

Glad to hear there will be no reason to be concerned about worldwide
health problems due to more and more polluting power plants!

Don't believe the above fantasy!

Demand a SOLAR charging option from electric vehicle manufacturers!

information on solar powered cars:

only 8 solar panels charge this electric car in a day!:

4 Solar panels on the roof recharge the 15 batteries on the Mazda
Electric Car if they are only half empty If the Mazda is near empty it
takes all 8 panels al day long to charge. If wind is blowing the wind
charger makes the charging go faster.

Hi

First of all we will only start production by late

Secondly there are people who are looking into using

wind power and river current. Stay tuned and check

So buy more raw food products and bulk items where possible.

Good work but it seems to be aimed at the people who just want to
have a cellphone in case they catch on fire or something. A real
fringe market since it appears a lot of the public has taken the
cell phone to be their main outlet for connecting up with others.

I am in the market where I don't call four people up every time
a light bulb goes off in my head but I do want incoming and outgoing
calls. Tracfone has worked for me. I think I pay about $100 a year
for over 1000 minutes. I did pay $50 extra one time for double
minutes for life. I have had really good luck with their customer
service.

Not really. PagePlus is as low as 5.4¢ per minute, which is cheaper than
any prepaid service I've ever seen, plus it has far better coverage than
GSM Tracfone (I think there is no more CDMA Tracfone being sold).

T-Mobile can be as low as 8¢ per minute. I know that there's various
deals on Tracfone that can bring the cost lower than the standard
pricing of 20-33¢ per minute, but probably not as low as 5.4¢.

The 7-11 pricing at 15¢ per minute is still less than the regular
Tracfone pricing, but probably higher than the deals Tracfone
periodically offers with bonus minutes that generally can cut the
regular pricing in half.

My tracfone went belly up recently. I called tracfone and they sent
out a new sim but I didn't think that was the problem anyway as I was
getting no display at all.

So I went to Meijer and picked up a new phone for 15 bucks. When I
switched my number over online I winded up with 2 months extra service
and a 1000 extra minutes. Maybe that came with the new phone.

I am not recommending tracfone over other services, just noting that
so far it has worked for me. And though it might not be the cheapest
it is not going to break the bank either.

Yes, Tracfone makes it very convenient, much more so than PagePlus. But
you stated "...it seems to be aimed at the people who just want to
have a cellphone in case they catch on fire or something." This isn't
true, it's aimed at people that want the lowest overall cost (other than
the ARN service).

T-Mobile really makes it easy as well, and once you buy $100 in air time
your minutes don't expire for 365 days, and minutes are as low as 8¢.
Alas the T-Mobile prepaid coverage isn't very good as they don't let you
roam onto 800 MHz GSM carriers. You can roam onto other 1900 MHz
carriers, but there aren't many of these around.

One thing I find quite ironic is that text messages on PagePlus can cost
as little as 3.6¢, while on my postpaid Verizon account, texting is now
up to 20¢. On Tracfone, text messages are 0.3 minutes, or 7-10¢ which
isn't bad, but still 2-3x what PagePlus charges.

Is this the Page Plus activation procedure, directly through them? I'm curious, because I didn't do it that
way, and their website no longer even mentions that they will do activations. The guy I used through
Ebay (not Ugly Eric) and I communicated through email.

Bring your complaint to an appropriate AIDS and/or LGBT legal advice
service. Fight back for those who no longer can, as well as for
yourself, and your partner.

If I was this person, I would complain in writing to CVS' CEO. Go right
to the top. The last thing a CEO wants to see is is company getting a
bad reputation because that hurts the bottom line.

Very interesting...for the NG and for life in general. this was in
regard to baiting other politicians.. why they engage in the
practice... the attempt is spin rational or truthful answers into some
sort of debasement, then provoke rage in the targeted person... those
remarks made out of rage are the ones that stick. .a person is led
into self destruction by any response.

.. a pastime for sociopaths... 'trolling'... even to the point of
stalking a victim, or calling their clients etc with lies.... to the
point of suicide in some cases...then these brag about it... there is
significant new legislation targeted at making the stalking, forging,
and lying aspects a felony... in the case of suicides, murder charges.

"The most important thing about a good attack is not the attack
itself. It's baiting your opponent to respond the way you want him to
respond, because only the things that come out of his mouth will
ultimately stick."

You see this applied even in government.. say at a tax audit etc.. the
auditor says to the half starved target who just lost his home or
whatever "we know you made money, therefore you owe taxes"... thats
both false and ludicrous of course...depends on how much money, and
the filing requirement limitations etc...

the remark is made to provoke rage, then enraged the victim starts
screaming ... that material can then be used against him.

***

One other issue. the old saying 'power corrupts, absolute power
corrupts absolutely'..

Those with such power, either as untraceable sociopaths trolling on
USENET, corporations or government with its insane wars... these go
totally corrupt. then self destruct. Not before doing imense damage
though.

is NOT. Weird I know but true

No, the power supply is only one issue. Thermal cycling is bad for
anything with soldered connections--like the ones holding all the
components to the motherboard, video adapter, drive electronics,
keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.

Enough thermal cycling can cause the joints to crack, leading to
lots of problems.

Better for the electronics for it to remain at a stable temperature.

I keep my core systems on full-time (I have supported distributed
computing projects in the past; those are not up at the moment). Then
again, I'm a network administrator; most people are't running Windows
Server 2003 Enterprise (legal, retail package) at home. I have very
little reliability issues with my systems.

Why is it that these days, the words "What idiot" are so frequently

Many major ISPs aren't peering usenet anymore. The excuse given is that
they wanted to stop distribution of kiddie porn in the binary groups, so
they killed ALL groups. Truly ironic, as usenet should be text only. So a
better idea would have been to just kill all the binary groups that don't
belong on usenet anyway...

Result is, traffic to all TEXT usenet groups is down (by my estimate) at
least 90%.

If you ask me, it is an attempt to kill free speech, using "it's for the
children" as a lame excuse. -Dave

I think everyone went to the 24hoursupport.helpdesk newsgroup. Why not let
Chuckcar put your computer in ruins by taking some of his well concocted advice?
