Waves back Mr. Chickpea! So sorry we couldn't get together again before
your grand adventure. Tell Mrs. Chickpea that the seeds from Gene
Joyner are doing great..as is the spider plant she gave me. The lotus
was a no go. Am trying Arabica coffee now. Hmm..visions of sipping my
morning cuppa a few years from now. Haha.
Do you remember when I lugged water from the spring in VT? It was quite
a chore. I feel your pain!

But..I digress. Apologies.
We have a ceiling fan that we run at night. I also have a great little
clip on fan that I sometimes put on the headboard and position my way.

These don't help much when my internal thermostat goes into overdrive.
But, pillow flipping does.

Maybe Nick is onto something. If I could replace the innards of my
pillow with something like copper scrubbies, the heat might dissipate
quicker.
The 'Chillow' cooling mat that Teleflora recommended also seems
interesting. But, I want to research it some more before spending the
money [thanks for the info Teleflora].

Anything involving ice or water in hot and humid Florida is probably not
going to be a good solution.

If I come up with a good solution, I'll post it here.

Rgds..

My wife was given slacks that appear expensive and the label requires
dry cleaning. We seldom use dry cleaning as in most cases my wife washes
by hand, very carefully and has not had problems. She hesitates on this
one as it is a gift and she doesn't know how much it costs. She even
considered returning them to the gift giver to be exchanged for washable
slacks, but that is no longer an option as she wore the slacks, twice!

The brand is "Elizabeth." This is what the label says: 90 percent rayon,
10 percent wool, lining 100 percent acetate. Dry cleaning is very
expensive, and we cannot really afford to have the slacks dry cleaned,
even once a month would soon be more than the basic cost of the slacks,I
think. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks.

http://www.dryel.com/

I've never used the product, but maybe someone who
has will chime in. Proctor and Gamble tests carefully before they put
products on the market.

She can probably safely hand wash the slacks--gently--in COLD water using a
gentle detergent like Woolite. Rinse and squeeze gently to get most of the
water out, but do not wring, and hang to drip dry.

Maybe driving at or below the speed limit is a sign of a somewhat
drunken driver but the cops can't legally pull someone over just for
driving the speed limit. Driving with no lights, however, is a
different story.

Then turn the mattress over. There's no pillow on the bottom...

As far as Sears-- well, if you read of my experience with their
attempts over two years to give me the working central A/C I paid for,
you'd never set foot in a Sears again.

Oh, yeah, here's the link:

There is no "supposed to" here. You live where you live, and as far
as I know, nobody forced you to live there. Apparently one of the
disadvantages of where you live is that there aren't many mattress
stores. If you don't like that, you could move somewhere that has
more mattress stores. If you don't feel like it's worth it, then be
prepared to do 3 hour drives sometimes to get to an area with a wider
selection.

Maybe if you lived in a civilized place.

I did a quick check on Superpages and had 30 hits for mattresses within
15 miles, but just 6 hits for Mcdonalds (32 hits for Dunkin Donuts)
within 10 miles.

There must be a lot of people near you who just lie in bed all day, eating donuts.

I think you would notice if you went in for a midnight snack and the thing
was glowing red. You'd also notice if it were emitting heat 24/7. At
least hopefully.

Could it just be that you've switched over to summer rates? In Austin,
the rates jump up around 10% or something for the summer, where summer
is defined as May through October.

Different firm but forget the FTC and follow my advice. Threaten
Small Claims. I have done this 5 times with different firms.. Three
times they coughed up $100
just on my promise two sue for $500, The other two times they agreed to
$500 and costs after papers were served.

No importers are specifying that fake or toxic ingredients be used.

The recent execution of their food and drug official shows that China is beginning
to recognize they have a credibility problem and that the integrity of exports
is "mission-critical" to their economy.

Kenny-

You're not reading very carefully....I never told anyone the
difference between AM & PM

by that I assume you meant 12AM vs 12PM

I merely suggested using noon & midnight......like most people do,
like I'm sure you do

I'd bet even you don't use 12PM or 12AM

you use noon & midnight.....right?

Rice flour for the buns is very cheap and has an unmistakable taste
and texture. It takes only a few minutes oif kneading to prepare it
before making the buns and putting it in the oven. Big restaurants
don't have the time or incentive other than to use anything other than
the best flour and ingredients. Small itinerant roadside bun makers
make their wares in full sight of their customers. Do see that comedy
movie "Shaolin Soccer" that has a typical small store bun making
business scene. The kungfu rendition of bun making by the heroine is
poetry in motion.

If you believe that the bun maker will go through all the trouble of
pulping and processing paper pulp to simulate rice flour you'll
believe anyhting.
