- U.S. Long Distance Provider - 8 Updates
tb <nospam@example.invalid>: May 13 08:52PM -0500 Here in the USA one can choose a long distance provider for the telephone landline. I don't think that cell phone subscriptions allow the same option... So what are my (cheap!) options for placing long distance/international calls with a cell phone? Prepaid calling cards? What else? -- tb |

Does yours not do this? Yes you are right. Sorry I was not clear enough in my previous post... I am looking for a cheaper alternative to the long-distance/international plan offered by my cell phone plan. -- tb |

Are you saying your cell phone provider charges EXTRA for long distance calls? Who is your cell phone provider? |

If you have wifi/internet access, you can use a Google Voice account with the Hangouts Dialer app. Dennis (evil) -- I'm behind the eight ball, ahead of the curve, riding the wave, dodging the bullet and pushing the envelope. -George Carlin |

They are two different things. Long distance with any cell phone service I've ever had is no different than calling a local number, it's just counted as airtime minutes. Cell phone carriers have intl calling options and plans. It's likely cheaper to use a calling card. |
