There are too many factors to be able to argue the point. For instance, if
the lens is small, and it's a bifocal prescription, trimming it might remove
too much of one of the focal "zones". It all depends....

Not sure where the OP is, but I'd hit one of the flea markets that cater
to blacks. All of them have a row a Korean selling gold and most of
them will do jewelry repairs on the cheap. Cheaper than investing in a
torch and high strength solder (or learning to braze).

I have a pair of glasses for the computer that I periodically
re-solder. I couldn't get a successful join until I took an onld
barss track connector from an HO railroad set, and made it into a
sleeve, and soldered the ends into that. The same could be done with a
half inch of small brass hobby tubing. Looks like crap, but you
can't see me through my screen (yet).

Been there, Tried that. Lotsa luck finding new frames where the lens
holes are the same shape and size. Now that Stylists design frames
instead of Engineers, and they change them pretty much constantly, the
chances of a plug-in replacement are slim at best. Unless you can find a
local lab that is willing to whittle the old lenses to fit (which would
probably cost more than new lenses), this is probably not a plausible
solution.

Yep, because anyone with a clue has noticed that that does work.

It was fools like you that produced the great depression after the Wall St crash.

OK

Houses are not the money makers they were a few years ago. Maybe a
great majority were ignoring the shoe-shine boy telegraphs when we saw
"Flip This House" and McMansion talk fill the buzz circuit. Surf over
to the thehousingbubbleblog dot com and follow the stopped clock
postulating. They were calling it a bubble at least 2 years ago with
forecasts for much financial meltdown. I am sure many there had shorts
on building stocks and financial stocks. Heck , many preached about
buying gold and bonds and all that doomsday stuff. There are a few on
the blog that can handle some risk and have shorted bank stocks
repeatedly. Evidently, the market is in turmoil.

Some have been mindlessly saying that lots of times in the last century or so.

Most have seen their property still worth a hell of a
lot more than it was worth before that happened.

No thanks, its just the usual pig ignorant mindlessly hyperventilating.

There is no financial meltdown and they didnt even
realise the problem with sub prime loans at that time.

> I am sure many there had shorts on building stocks and financial stocks.

You cant short over that period of time.

Yep, fools have been doing that stuff for more than a century or more now.

Its always been one way to make money in any market that isnt booming.

> Evidently, the market is in turmoil.

It would be more surprising if it wasnt given the sub prime fiasco.

A lot of people don't understand just how rotten the underpinnings of
the economy have become.

The value of the dollar has fallen by nearly half in the last 7
years. The credit markets are a mess, no one knows the amount of risk in
the debt. And the economy is kept sputtering along by cheap money and debt.

The DJIA closed at 12,100 friday and when "W"onder President was
inaugurated it was 10,700. 1 1/2 % a year, and that is the group that
has gotten the top deal.

Thanks for that completely superfluous proof that you

The yuan is locked to the USD, stupid. Where do you 'think' those goods are coming from ?

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - In a move that could trim the trade gap with the
United States, China revalued its currency higher against the dollar
Thursday and said it would no longer have the yuan tied to a fixed rate
against the U.S. currency.

The move, while small at this point, could be the first step to reduce
competition for some U.S. companies from lower-priced Chinese imports.

A stronger yuan could also increase the sales U.S. exporters get from
business with the world's largest country, one of the fastest growing
consumer markets. U.S. exporters could keep their prices the same in
U.S. dollars, thus lowering the price in yuan and spurring increased
sales. Or they could keep prices in yuan level, and bring in a greater
amount of dollars.

Are CNN and Forbes also lying?
Rod, you should go the the track, it is the only place where I enjoy
seeing clueless people.Let me guess, you went once, were unable to
decipher all the numbers so you bet by random numbers or cute names
,lost and decided it was rigged. Bet you love lotteries. They make

Nope, they just repeated the chinese lie and we have since seen what
a lie it always was when the USD has slumped rather dramatically in
recent times and the yuan has followed it down, so US retaillers wont
have any problem with restocking because the price of what they
almost universally get from china now hasnt been affected significantly.

have bankrolls and brains.

Thank you for looking! I have access to a large inventory of genuine
gemstone, high quality jewelry and want to move volume, therefore you
have this excellent opportunity to take advantage of this and buy
beautiful jewelry at REAL wholesale prices. Most of this jewelry
retails for 3 - 5 times the opening bid.

There is definitely something for everyone! Valentine's day is
coming!!!!

I have over 120 jewelry auctions currently running that will end
Wednesday 1/23/08 night. Take some time to visit all my items that I
have for sale and for additional savings be sure to take advantage of
my combined shipping.

Visit this link to take a look:
